ooh, thats interesting, thanks!

hey spooky! i'm spooky, too!!!   lol

What? Nothing on there about how many times they've saved Earth?! :D

You know, Gucci makes some great dog tags, and Kenneth Cole makes a watch on a dog tag . . . :naughty:

I wanted dog tags really badly, they looked so cool on SG-1!! So when I went to Florida and Disney World (hey you don't have to be five to go) I bought some Men in Black ones! They say, 'Saving the Earth from the SCUM of the Universe' ! They're pretty good actually. :D

Thanks Rowan, I actually need that information for a fanfic I'm writing. Now I finally know what's on those thingies!!

Ah, the allure of military chic . . .

Or, for some of us, the desire *not* to have to do 50 push-ups for showing up in morning formation without them on.

Luckily, that's not been a problem since 1996...

... unless they decide to haul me back in.

I am WAY civilian . . .

(unlike many of my family members). It's kind of like golf - if it requires me to get up at o'dark thirty, I don't want to do it. "Not a morning person" just doesn't begin to cover it.

"If I wanted to drill, I would have attended The Point."

you guys have inspired me. i'm going to go to a local key cutters and pet tag maker, and get one made with the right info on. i dont know my blood type, tho

Blood type

Well ... most folks are O positive... not saying you should use that. The wrong blood in a transfusion is nasty! :iiworry:

Me very much not military. Aging flower-child here.

As for bloodtype, Spooky, you really should know yours. Could be important, to you or someone you love.

So what happens if someone doesn't have a religion? Do they leave that line blank?

dog tags

Nope. The line will say "OTHER" or "NONE". Means you don't care what Chaplin talks to you. And the comment is right: 'There are no atheists in foxholes.'

This is the military. They can't leave an empty line. I think there is a law against it or something. ;)

Hummm

The folks in the ID Card section have this 'book' [I'm not sure with DA Pham# it is right now]. but it lists the 'acceptable' religeons they can list.

It took a friend 10 years and 4 Chaplins to get them to put 'WICCA' on mine, only to have to get a whole new set of tags, etc. when they deployed to the Gulf for Desert Storm. IT wasn't a very safe thing to have anything other than one of the Christian subgroups or 'Jewish' on your tags over there.
