It's Natalie's birthday again, which gets her and Nick thinking about another one of her birthdays- the day they met. Now she's met someone else- and Nick's jealousy is showing. Meanwhile a killer is murdering his dates.

Watched this today - (was kinda doing something else too, so I'm not sure how much of it I caught, but I think I got most of it) -

Nick's bit jealous, eh? hmmmmm -

And it takes him *how* long to fully admit his feelings? As long as just about any other show??

Can I just say that I knew that "Roger" was the killer when Nat bumped into him -- that was just WAY too predictable ---- (or I'm a horrible cynic and totally expected it :D)

This was one of my favorite eps for that scene.

Yeah...I remember watching that the first time, and thinking "classic bad guy set-up." It's not the crime-solving aspect of the show that attracts me to it. If FK had turned out to be NYPD Blue with vampires, I probably wouldn't have watched it. It's the deeper aspects of the series that interests me.

It's the whole relationship between Nick and LaCroix, Nick's need to do something good, to try and turn his so-called curse into something else, the idea of an eternal quest that may or may not succeed, his love for Natalie, and the underlying themes. Essentially, it's the story within the story that I find fascinating, if that makes any sense. :)
