Druss - Sean Connery (I know.... predictable choice!)
Rek - Johnny Depp
Ulric - Viggo Mortensen
Virae - Julia Stiles
Vintar - Patrick Stewart
Elicas - Antonio Banderas
Bowman - Orlando Bloom

I think that I disagree with all of your 'dream cast', except for maybe Depp as Rek. In fact it is the most hideous cast ever assembled. Just differences of opinion, each to their own and all that.

Connery doesn't have the right presence for Druss - maybe Arnie with a greybeard, and voice-training.

As for Orlando Bloom - please, spare me from his fake voice, awkward limbs, and general uncertain presence!

Since I can't find any copies of these books in either libraries or second-hand bookstores I can't comment. I don't get why libraries seem to underrate the scifi and fantasy genres.

I know what you mean. My library used to have a section for sci-fi and fantasy. Then, some years ago they did away with that and now those books are spread out with all the other regular fiction books. Makes it much harder to find something to read.

Personally I think your "dream cast" is quite good but might i recommend heath ledger for bowman and i think you need a bigger stronger man for druss oh and viggo mortessan would be no good at ulric and mayby a slightly more masculine female character quite possibly vintar as patrick stewart but antonio banderas in a role that requires something else than mindless violence just doesnt work and vintar requires a certain kindness

Other than that i think it would make a great cast.

Good question E4rl, I'll have to think on it. I do have one for Druss but he could play Jaim or Rage for that matter. Liam Neison has got to be Druss! or nobody. Heh

Sean Connery can't be Druss, he doesn't have the body mass. Maaaaybe Arnie, but thats kinda hopeful thinking as he still after 40 some odd years still can't speak the english langauge.

Rek - First name that comes to mind is Mel Gibson

Druss-In terms of age and compotence you would have to say Sean Connery but as previously mentioned he lacks the physical stature to play the role. So I would say a less know person, possibly the guy who played Amish from Braveheart if you could make him look older.
Rek-Maybe Hugh Jackman or Adrian Paul
Virae-Kiera Knightley though i dont know how she would look blonde
Serbitar-I would tend to go more with Orlando Bloom in this roll or perhaps Ewan McGreggar
Vintar-Pactrick Stewart I think is an ecclent choice for this role
Gan Hogun-Liam Nissan
Gan Orin-Bernard Hill
Ulric-Sean Bean
Bowman-Christian Bale
Those would be my main people. But i still dont know about Druss he is just too cool a character to think of someone to play him.

i think bowman would be better suited to christian slater or someone like that they need a serious but playful edge, bale is too dark. im gonna have a good think on this subject, i used to do this with films but not in a while, i dont think kiera would work either, but wont critisise untill i've come up with my own list ok.
