Details on the final four episodes of Stargate SG-1's sixth (and possibly final) season are here, thanks to supervising producer Joseph Mallozzi. The season finale -- which may be SG-1's final episode, if MGM and The Sci-Fi Channel do not give a go-ahead to a seventh season -- is titled "Full Circle."
Mallozzi provided the info in an online chat yesterday with the Sam/Jack Horsewomen fan group.
"The fourth to last episode, titled 'The Changeling,' was written by Chris Judge (polished by Brad Wright) and will see a cameo from Dr. Jackson," Mallozzi reported. "The third to last episode, written by Damian Kindler, (I don't know if Damian has decided on a title yet), sees the team on an off-world gate-hunt."
"The second to last episode, which Paul [Mullie] and I are writing, is titled 'Prophecy.' The last episode, being penned by Robert C. Cooper, is titled 'Full Circle,' and will see Michael Shanks reprising the role of Daniel Jackson." He added, "I didn't say he un-ascended."
"'Full Circle' gives us some major revelations -- in a bittersweet story."
"We decided to go ahead and write a story that would work nice as a season finale. Hopefully we'll be able to continue to adventures with a new season of SG-1." Mallozzi added that Jonas Quinn would return for Season Seven, if it's picked up. "No one said Daniel was coming back for good," he said.
All will be revealed about the mysterious Goa'uld Anubis by season's end, he also said. And a late Season Six episode titled "Paradise Lost" "brings closure to one story and offers up hope of ... a certain something."
While there's no news about the show being picked up for a seventh year, Mallozzi did say that he hopes to find out before the end of August. Should the series continue on for another year, he also confirmed that the SG-1 feature film would "definitely be pushed back."
Could the team continue without commanding officer Jack O'Neill? Actor Richard Dean Anderson has been quoted more than once as saying that the current season would be his last. "I haven't spoken to the actors," Mallozzi said, "but I'm sure that if we're going to do Season Seven, we will have all of our cast back. ... We're going to definitely want Rick back for a Season Seven."
