New Line, Zlotoff rig up deal for 'MacGyver' film
August 26, 2002 - The Hollywood Reporter

"MacGyver," the late-1980s television series that featured an unsinkable secret agent played by Richard Dean Anderson, has completed a plot for the big screen. (Chris Gardner and Josh Spector)

** The rumor is that RDA will *possibly* have only a cameo and that the studio is searching for a 'younger' star. Boooooo!!!!

I heard about that. It's actually a funny story how I heard about it but...ya'll don't care so I won't bore you. :wink2:

Has anybody heard anything else about it?

What are your thoughts on RDA not playing him?

Personally, I can only see one man as macgyver and that's RDA. But who knows, maybe if they find the right person...:erm:

look for another thread on this . . . last on the grapevine was (only a rumor) that Michael Shanks (just a rumor) was being considered.

That would be kinda weird...;)

any new news on this??

all I've heard is just this bit -- what's here - there 'might' be a movie and that RDA 'might' cameo - but that's it ----

prey, what's wrong with an older Mac? Can't they use RDA?

Nothing, aside from the fact that RDA doesn't want to work full-time on another series like MacGyver (or, I think that's what he said) - MacGyver is a rough show -- all that stuff he had to do - it's demanding work --

I love RDA - and I love MacGyver -- but, not sure I'm looking forward to the new show -- hmmmmmmm --- might give it a look tho -

well they did say movie not show, right? so it would be a one shot deal! Mac training his long lost son to be Mac Jr.
