Hi folks! Having fun!!!

Sept 12: registration day, raffles, prize draws and Cocktail party.

The registration was smooth as silk! I missed the prize draws.... (is that what that sheet of little lines were for!!!! They didn't tell me it was for Sept 12 only!). My gang & I went sight-seeing at UBC Museum of Anthropology and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. The artifacts at the Museum were awesome!! Lots of larger-than-life totem poles and native Canadian carvings! Then the dizzying world-spanning anthropological displays were ..... dizzying. You could spend days looking at artifacts from .... Asia, North America, Europe, Africa.... even Polynesian Death Masks!!! Hahahahaha!!:D

And Capilano Suspension Bridge is a must-see for any visitors to the Vancouver area. The bridge sways, bounces and sways over a deep canyon. And we were there at sunset. Spectacular views!! Don't forget the Gravol!!;)

The cocktail party gave us time to catch up with fellow fans from previous Gatecons and from on-line sites!! There were appetizers and lots of drinks. We got the chance to chat with Tom Giannazzo (the USAF consultant for the show) and Doug Thar (Tom's civilian counterpart consultant from the Pentagon). We did glean one *rumour* from Tom. He says that CJ is now a "taken man"; his new girlfriend "looks like a model"; and CJ is not the same drinking buddy and party animal as before!!;) ;) Just a *rumour*........

Sept 13: Lots of laughs with JR Bourne, Freda Betrani, Colin Cunningham, Alexis Cruz, Jay Acavone, Peter Williams & Colin Cunningham.

JR, Peter Williams & Jay were all inducted into the "Dead Guys' Club", given "death certificates by Dr. J Frasier" and T-shirts that say on the back "Dead Man Walking". It was hilarious!!

JR's dog has a slipped disc (.....awwwwww!!); JR and Freda have co-starred in a previous production together (neat-o!), Colin has a hot car (he wouldn't say exactly what it was), Alexis is a deeeeeeep guy! He waxed metaphysical on us! And Jay is "still looking for work".

JR Bourne signed books written by his sister "Yummy yummy nummy nummy" (supposed to be read outloud by JR & Colin tomorrow!! Eeeeekkkk!); the proceeds of the book is going to Cystic Fibrosis research.

In between am and pm sessions, some con attendees went to have photographs taken with some of the actors. And after the dinner banquet, costume contest judging was by Peter Williams, Freda Betrani & Sarah Douglas (Garshaw the Tok'ra). A radio-play skit rounded out the evening festivities.

And that's all folks!

Is Suanne Braun there ?

Hi,

Great to read a report on how things are going there at Gatecon. Just wondering if Suanne Braun (Hathor) was there and there was no mention of her in the report. One of the most recent schedules had her down as the first talk with Peter Willaims, for the Friday I think.

Regards,

Arthur

Thanks for the great report, xst..

1st - nya nya nya -- I know what kind of car Colin drives! :evil;

2nd - am I gonna tell? ah - sure --- but - what I oughta do is tell you to go to http://www.colincunningham.com and look it up -

he drives a black, 1956 Porsche roadster (IIRC) [roadster part's the only part i'm not sure about] and it's a convertible --- sweet car --

3rd - Suanne Braun - yes, she was there - she was EXCELLENT at the auction (think that's technically Day 4) --

other guests - Corin Nemic (sp?), Amanda Tapping, Don S. Davis, Gary Jones -- (Don't ask me about anything that happened on Sunday b/c I was asleep! - just couldn't get up <sigh> so, i missed all the crew panels and such - oops!)

Groan... Don't get me started on how badly the raffles and daily drawings were docummented. At least this year I filled out them tiny slips of paper and stuffed them in the boxes. But only knew about them because my friend noticed the boxes. A lot better than that unmentioned studio trip drawing last year. But geez, they could have printed my name and badge number out on the sheet as some sort of Word merge and stuck it in my registration envelope.

Love JR's impression of Colin talking to himself in the car. Not sure that was first panel or second...

As part of the skits, we were bummed that the A/C was on so high it drove some people out.

Colin actually drove up to the hotel in his car on Monday 16th. It is a really nice car. Once I've got my photos developed (and if they turn out ok) I'll post some of them, cos I got one of Colin with his little Roadster.
