Having bemoaned and protested at the general non-availability of reasonable comics of any flavour. (Yes, I do remember you are up to your ears in suppliers in the Eire, RDE!). It has to be said there does seem to be quite a good supply of comic strips on the web.

Came across the Electric Universe in my travels today, part of the Genxorcist site.

Genxorcist itself is well worth reading, if your preference is towards the Meglomanic/Horror Fantasy. Perhaps someone who is can give a professional opinion?

However the list of genres on Electric Universe is impressive, running from Action/Adventure (James Bond etc) through Super Heroes and onwards. Most are originals, some are suitable for kids. Graphics wise they range from the really awful to some really superbly detailed 3D strips. The same comment can be made of the stories as well.

I'll make more comment as I explore the stories.

Angels 2200

I said I would comment on some of the work available from Electronic Universe. Here is the first:-

Synopsis
An Federation of Worlds, has been at war with another species for many years, drawing the cream of its forces to battle far away amidst the stars.
Meanwhile the home territories are protected by nothing more than a few ships too old to be considered for active war. With what remains of the male population, either wiped out by a genetic plague, or fighting the real war, all that remains to crew these old vessels are females.
To add complexity, some of the planets in the federation are agitating for seperation. Tasked with suppressing the rebellion, on top of everything else, the navy has to draft allsorts to drive its warships and fighters.
Thus we have Angel Squadron. A bunch of female misfits that must learn how to fly, fight and become a team.

Comments
Mostly black and white line drawings, it is not nearly as cheesy as the synopsis suggests. To be honest it is quite funny!
The story is simple and easy to follow. The characters feel ordinary and the dialogue familiar to anybody that has been in a crewroom.
Better still, I would say it is suitable for most ages and is active.
Not a lot of Science Fiction perhaps, but a great atmosphere
