But let's focus on the game... After all the age and nationality don't affect the person's skills... And befoure you ask my skills are mainly in programming, but I can do many other things. ;)

- classical starting mission ... you are learning how to create troops etc.
- you can build: jaffas, slave, some main buildings (jaffa barracks etc.)
- after ammasing 5.000 [resource] and training 10 jaffas is end of mission

Goals: 1) you must regain control over an naquada mine (infested by replicators or humans)

- an easy mission
- you can build: jaffas,death gliders,some main buildings+factory (for DG)
- after regaining control over the mine (it's second, the first you have in basecamp) happens this:
An Hat'ak approaches the planet. It is being attacked by 2 al-keshs. You will recieve a signal from
it. It is system lord Cronus and requests imidiate help. He offers something interesting.
* player will use DGs to destroy al-keshs and escort Hat'Ak to his main base
or
* player will let Hat'Ak to be destroyed - this will complicate him few next missions
NOTE: we must give player enough time to destroy Al-Keshs !!!!

I hate to sound like I am being negative.

But before you go on might it not be a good idea to get the team together?

From my experience it is all good and right having the idea and the plan set, but without a dedicated team who are willing to take up allot of their spare time and allot of hard work, it won't go any where passed the early Alpha stages, if that.

It's a bit harsh but it's true. Making such a mod is a big deal even if your team are all 100% dedicated, it can only be much harder if you have a number of the team missing.

I like your ideas and your work so far and enthusiam is fantastic, but you really need to take a step back and assess the situation and go at it logically and slowly, there is no rush, and a rushed mod will be of less quality then one that had time taken over it.

Just some advice, I hope it helps and I really hope you get something out of this

But before any of that, MAKE a thorough design document detailing everything you want to do. Nothing's worse for a team than a project leader making it up as he/she goes.
That's what an expirienced project leader e-mailed me when I asked him about getting team members. But don't worry I'm searching, soon we'll have our team ;) If you know someone who could help - tell me! :cool:

Hey, I gotta plan :

If you want to build a M.A.T (tau'ri), you will need to train a person to operate it.
If you want to build a Death Glider (goauld), you will need 2 jaffa to operate it.
Doesnt work at big ships (cargo, spaceships, warships ;-)


SG-11 covert ops
- they cant have a weapon disabler ... If you saw that epizode, you should know its impossible !!!

B-2 stealth
- it cant be TOTALLY invisible, it should be always wievable at radar as a "blured dot"

Ashrak
-why would Ashrak lay defensive TACs ????

Grey Guy
- the nasty weapon should be AK-47 :))
 
My Team

So,
we'll work in 3D Studio MAX. It's the best for that work. Now in my team there are 3 people(including me). One of them isn't a fan yet, but he can made the best things of us.
The next thing I have to say you : we aren't experienced in making 3D models (except Jojen). Reaver.man told me about your project, because I'm making another graphics for a game, but programmers wanted to do it in 2D engine. But all of us know how to make 3D graphics in 3D Studio MAX and probably in related programs too. So if you don't mind.........

We have to get the program....I think it will be here next week. Then we can start make some models to test.

try to make a Hat'ak model, it should be good for test.

Worse will be where will ya take textures !
 
Well, that could take a while.....I can check some sites, textures can be made from bitmap image......it's the most used way I think.

The next choice is draw it - but it will take much more time.What ya think???

Reaver.man you could get some textures from the DVD-s
Textures for war3 are in the *.blp format, I have a converter from and to *.tga so you have to save them in tga.
There are some restrictions from the war3 engine... I'm not sure I think it was 300-500 polygons or so for the models...
Here is a program that could help you with the 3dsmax and the war3 format.(I don't know really what it is... :)) I have some more progs but that later...
I'll post later about the units.
