1:13 Mother of Invention

Looking for Steve, the leader of a group Markus may want an alliance with, Jeremiah finds Michelle, who had been his lover, and her son. He and Kurdy must find out if Michelle is rebuilding a world or just piling up a private treasure.


Great episode! Love the beginning of the episode when Jeremiah and Kurdy were trying to convince Markus that they work better alone. And also enjoy the story of Michelle and Jeremiah was very touching also we discover how Jeremiah get the idea of making letters to his father and burn it. Definitely a good episode.

When Kurdy and Jeremiah talk about that film they can't remember (with light sabres and a golden robot and a little one with wheels) Jeremiah says that his Dad had it on DVD. 'Star Wars: A New Hope' is not likely to be released on DVD until 2005. Is this the date of the 'Big Death'? And they never saw 'Mad Max'. That's why they drive a Jeep rather than a motorbike.

I didn't understand the first part with Maxine and Anna. They seemed to have some animosity for Jeremiah and Kurdy that wasn't properly explained. Was it just because they had been a scavenger squad longer and felt demoted? Do you think Markus already knew that Jeremiah had a connection with Michelle?

Is Gabriel really Jeremiah's son? Do you think Jeremiah wishes he was?

Was the farmhouse Jeremiah's parents old home? Originally, I thought this, but later he calls it "the farmhouse", and I would expect him to refer to it as 'my house' or something similar.

How long did Jeremiah and Michelle stay together in the farmhouse? Obviously, not long enough for her to tell him her older brother's name, even though she never stopped talking about her older brother. And it must have been long enough for Jeremiah to tell her all about the 'things he had to do'. And he told her all about his younger brother, he hasn't told many people that story.

As for the animosity between Maxine and Anna with Jeremiah and Kurdy, I think it begins because Jeremiah and Kurdy wouldn't have partners in this, if you remember the episode begin when Jeremiah and Kurdy are trying to convince Markus that they work better alone. So I think the animosity was both ways and begins with Jeremiah and Kurdy attitude. Personally I think it was a boys and girls situation. As for Markus knowing I don't think so, because they only know about some guy named Steve that later Jeremiah and Kurdy find out was Michelle.

As for Gabriel I really not sure is his Jeremiah's son, I tend to think that he is but it wasn't all that clear. And what Michelle say to him could be a way to let Jeremiah with doubts because she knows both of them have different paths now. As for Jeremiah, yes I think he wishes to be the dad, and I think at the end he stills think it a possibility no matter what Michelle tells him.

Do you mean the place where Jeremiah and Michelle first know each other. At first I think that it was other place but now you make me think about it harder. My first impression was that it was a place that Jeremiah makes a stop in one of his adventures.
