What I noticed the last two years is that the large part of the con-goers do not do a costume. Costume wearing hasn't become "the thing" at the Vancouver con as I hear is more the case at Star Trek cons. I find them cool and the people rather brave to run about in costumes. (All I do is wear my BDUs and tanktops.)
We had fantastic costumes in the contest the last two years. I recall from this year's costume contest had Anubus, Golfing Jack, Upgrades Jack, priests from CoTG, and a few Gods and Tok'ra. And Allan pulls out his Tok'ra getup for a day when he hosts. And he also got to show off the Martouf effects jacket from Divide and Conquer.
I do miss the Jaffa. This is kinda odd seeing how popular Bra'tac is. But I begin to think that maybe molding armor, making a staff weapon and crafting the chainmail is a bit out of the league of your average person. But there must be a few creative people going as Jaffa for Halloween somewhere.
