Nick groaned inwardly at the thought of yet another Halloween because...

Natalie would wheedle him into being a vampire (again!) and he would have to endure endless bloodsucking vampire jokes from Schanke.

And the children....

would tug on his cape, giggling hysterically. As he walked into work Halloween night...

His senses were immediately assailed by visions of politicians chatting with aliens and witches, and the headache-inducing sound of "The Monster Mash" blaring from a boombox.

Natalie abandoned her post by the punch bowl, and ran up to him. She was dressed as....

a witch with a pointy black hat, a long neon-green wig, and a black dress. Schanke was wearing...

a giant pumpkin outfit.

"Well, if it isn't the Great Pumpkin and the Wicked Witch of the West. Fancy meeting you here," he cracked.

Schanke got him back, though. "I thought you weren't one for parties, Dracula."

Nick held his hands up in surrender, and decided, what the hell, to go along with the gag with his best Bela Lugosi impersonation. "I just vant a drink."

Natalie....

tried unsuccessfully to not crack up, and Captain...

Cohen sauntered up to their little group, dressed as, of all things, Glinda the Good Witch of the North.

"Gentlemen. Doctor. Nice costumes."

"You haven't done too bad yourself, Cap," Nick commented.

Natalie was still giggling from Nick's dead-on Dracula impersonation. ~Dead-on!~ she thought. ~Hah-hah! I crack me up!~

Grace...

was dressed as an angel, complete with a sparkling halo and wings. Schanke...

 

[Highlander II]

...spilled punch all down the front of his pumpkin outfit.

 

[EmilyH]

Nick couldn't help but grin, showing gleaming white plastic fangs. Grace and Natalie giggled.

Nick then cleared his throat to regain his companions' attention. "Just out of curiosity: Did you guys get any trick-or-treaters yet? With all the candy you must've bought, I'm sure there were plenty....."

of kids to eat it all up."

Schanke nodded. "We had a few kids earlier."

Just then, the phone on Nick's desk rang.

"Knight here."

On the other end, LaCroix growled furiously, "Nicholas!...."
