Clark rescues Lana from the eye of the storm by sheltering her with his body after she passes out.

Nixon and Jonathan are trapped in a lead-lined church basement, while Lex rescues his father, who is critically injured.

Clark returns to discover the spaceship is gone and searches for his father with Lex, who is hiding the truth about his connection with Nixon.

While searching for Jonathan, Chloe says they should just be friends, knowing Clark went to rescue Lana.

Clark finds the church later but it's filled with green meteor rocks and Nixon leaves one on Clark to take him as proof for his story. When Nixon prepares to kill Jonathan to escape, Lex is forced to shoot and kill him. Lex also orders his father to receive an immediate operation, which ends up blinding him.

And out in the fields, the spaceship lies exposed...

This was pretty good as openers goes. I just knew Lana would find out his secret. I was disappointed that she didn't.

The ep was not bad.

yeah, i agree that i thought Lana would figure it out, but then i guess "hey the nice boy living next door may have super human abilities" is not something one thinks up easily :D

I felt kinda sorry for Chloe, after all her relationship with Clark was just starting and he goes and ruins it. But maybe she should be more understanding, he did leave to save Lana's life - it was just a tad important! :D Hopefully they'll make up soon. (I'm just a tiny little Shipper - could you tell?? ;))

I was disappointed with this opener :( maybe my standards are too high after the excellent Buffy and Angel premiers but this ep seemed to lack surprise and drama for me, in other words it was quite run of the mill and obvious. Plus, i guess in my heart i wanted Clark to realize that Chloe didnt mean what she said and she wanted Clark to realize too, but he didnt :(

Yeah I do agree...and I think she kinda understood that he went to save Lana but I think she wanted him to say that he didnt want to be just friends and that he wanted to be with her and then I think she would have forgiven him for anything.
For such a smart guy Clark can be a bit stupid sometimes ;)

I also think that maybe Pete has a little crush on Chloe...or is that just me!! :D
