Care to join me in some S7 speculation?

Specifically: How do you think the writers might bring Daniel back and restructure the team. Will Jonas stay as part of SG1? Will SG1 look the same? I thought originally that perhaps O'Neill might get promoted and take a more Hammond-like role for his 'abbrieviated' appearances in S7, but I then read N John Smith's chat which suggested O'Neill's appearances would be as frequent as in S6.

Y'see the idea I had was that they would bundle O'Neill off somewhere else, where we wouldn't get to see him quite so often, then they would promote Carter to be an SG commander (i.e. running the team) and we would be left with an SG1 comprised of Sam, Tealc, Jonas and Daniel.

Now I always wondered why it was that Jonas didn't get to have rows with Sam over physics'y stuff, after all, even though his planet's science isn't as advanced as Earth's he should have caught up pretty durn quickly with that handy eidetic memory of his. So if you bear in mind his science-based background, he could fulfil the scientist role, while Sam has bigger things to worry about...

Just some ideas I thought I would throw out there. I have a gut feeling that Jonas is here for the long haul (yep, watch me eat my words in a few months), and the biggest question is how the new dynamic is going to work.

Just in passing

I doubt Carter will/would get her command yet. She doesn't have the rank/combat experience. Yes, she's been 2IC under O'Neill but her combat exposure has still been limited. Putting her in command of another team - say an all science team - wouls make more sense [utlization of staff].

Daniel's decension: All sorts of fun ways here and a lot of them have been addressed already in fan fic.

Jonas: There are still many ways to utilize him in the structure of the SGC. We'll have to wait and see.

As for Jonas and Sam striking sparks: that's somethig I've always wondered myself. Jonas is, basically, a political science advisor back home on a planet that was less advanced in it's head sciences.

However they do chose to reassend Danny into the team (why wouldn't they) I hope they don't just throw Jonas on the rubish heap. They've tried so hard to convince us he's now a member of the team, do something with it. Maybe Danny will come back & tell him off for being a spinless twit while he saved Jonas' planet...but then no, Danny wouldn't hold a grudge. He's experienced Ascention.

I guess we'll have a better idea of what the format of the team will be after the S6 finale (is MS gonna be in the finale btw?) but i think it'll be pretty much the same but with Jonas popping in when they need an extra science geek. i like Jonas, i wanted him to be a regular and see how him and Danny are like together. But, yay, Dannys back!

As I understand it, yes, Daniel's back in the S6 ender "Full Circle". It was mentined by Brad Wright at GateCon. Also in a short chat I had with Joe Mallozzi [one of the producers] and Alexis Cruz at GateCon (as he reprises his role as Skarra) at GateCon.

i think, however they do it, daniel descends, jonas vanishes except for a few minutes here and there as plots or plot devices necessitate, and given that many plot threads have been closed in season 6 since they thought it was the end....we're gonna have a lot of planet of the week episodic stuff.

In other words, imagine season 1, just pretend that Jonas is kawalsky and doesn't get killed off.

Obviously, I've not seen all of S6, maybe some of this gets answered, but there is a little more scope than that:

They could bring back Harry Maybourne, they have the political angles of the Russians and Senator Kinsey (maybe he runs for President), they almost did a 'Worf and Alexander' thing with Teal'c and Ry'ac but room for more there, we have still never seen the Ancients, we don't know the outcome of the Asgard-Replicator war, and personally I'd like to see the Nox again.

We've got all sorts of possibilities.

We've got cultures/mytho we haven't touched yet (Mayan, Mid-Pacific, African, etc), people we've seen and want to see again (Nox, Asgard, Tollan, etc), new folks (Furlings...) old and new baddies. Stuff on Earth and off.

The possibilities are still endless.

sorry if this comes as a shock to u guys but i have been discusing this on a couple other forums and hers what i want and think about season 7.

1. I hope that TPTB decide to let Sg-1 go on as a five person team. I do wonder if they will kick CN back to a smaller less pronouced roll, but i see it as unlikely.
2. Sg-1 needs to revisit some of the old planets from the first couple of seasons. Yes Skoon including Tollana, and Narim. But id rather see them go back to palces like Chimmeria, and any other place were they changed the peoples culture or beliefs.
3. What happened to the alein in the Crystal Skull. i want to know more about them. Oh and i guess that Daniels Grandpa to.
4. Lets have some development of the Nox they seem to have great potential for anything.
5. Lets learn more about the Asgard in general, there cultrure and such
6. I want to see an Ancient, or learn about who they were and why they left our area of space.

good points Tim. Ya I wonder how all those cultures we screwed up are doing. & gimmie my Narim...oh didn't we determine that Narim is safley stowed in my closet...never mind. Yes more Nox would be great. I really want Jonas to stay a big part of the team, nothing wrong with a 5 man team is there? Any regulations on it?

I have a feeling we will get a bit more indepth with the Asguard...unless that one ep at the end of S5? was all we'll get. The whole
