Ever wonder about Teal'c's eblem? Chris Judge called it a "loonie" (canadian coin). It's a three-piece appliance in which the make-up artists perfected the appliance into a one-step process. THe symbiote pouch was also a complete body appliance with special effects guys operating it, but now it's a CGI (computer generated image). Much easier.

Chris calls Teal'c 'reserved' (except when he smiles, as he's become more acclimated to earth culture).
