Here are the questions :

1. The pharoahs we discovered in the tombs didn't have anything which could relate them to the goa'uld symbiotes, but they still represented the gods on Earth.
So were the pharoah s a deviance of a perpetuated tradition of the First Prime or just tyrants usurping power ?

2. Why did they still worship egyptian gods after Ra was defeated ?

3. What restrained Ra from destroying Earth or coming back with bigger ships and armies ? Was it because Earth didn't even have valuable naquada deposits ? Unthreating and miserable populace ? Was it because of an older treaty ? Presence of other Goa'ulds ?

4. How other Goa'ulds managed to still be worshipped on Earth and steal humans from various cultures and times to take them to other worlds (before the first Tok'ra put an end to this and was killed by Ra) ?

Very interesting and well thought out. Let's see if these get folks thinking.

Thanks! :D

1. Ra assumed a pre-existing theology - even when Ra was overthrown, the theology could have survived. He was simply a bad egg example. In reality, the theology was constantly changing, and different groups in different places respected different gods anway. The burials we have found are simply the human kings who took on the deitic powers and become gods on earth. Effectively taking over from Ra.

2. As above.

3. Aha, #1 question! At the end of the day, the Goa'uld power comes down to supplication through dominance, or destruction. Since the Tau'ri had overthrown him, their belief in him as a deity had gone, so the dominance side was over. That would leave destruction - but why bother? From what we have seen he could quite easily have done so - but perhaps he had bigger fish to fry running the System Lords or fighting with them, and also setting up / running the naquadah rich planets that he had seeded with peoples from Earth.

4. The Goa'uld were always fighting amongst themeslves, and therefore could easily have been well distanced from Ra at the time of the up-heaval. Even though the stories of the gods were inter-twined, if the local people had no reason to be violently against their local Goa'uld (we saw how personally persuaive, suave and charismatic Seth was for example, and had no need to use mass violence during his periods of worship) then they would not necessarily either associate with the Ra over-throw, or feel the need to do so. Communications may also have been governed by the local Goa'uld. Indeed, with Hathor for example, her local domination was likely to be chemically enhanced, so any "bad thoughts" would be extremely difficult if not impossible. We even saw how far Ra went to ensure the upheavel didn't happen again - he banned communication in the form of writing; it does beg the question what happened to the verbal messages of those who wrote down those images in the caves?

Hmm a hard question. This would probably be because the Egyptian reign lasted for a very long time. So according to the movie Ra came just before 10000BC. now I think that Egyptian civilisation as we know it began in around 9000BC and the pyramids were first built around 5000BC. So that leaves about 1000 years for them to forget their false gods.

Besides if that was only in one section of Egypt. This was a long time ago and travel was not as common as it is today. Therefore word of mouth was not that common and could easily be twisted. If a villager from the part where Ra was overthrown said to a stranger, the gods have been overthrown, he'd have likely to have his tongue cut off. So then if each of the Goa'uld had their own little province (Ra has upper Egypt, Sekhmet has lower etc.) They could still control lands and take hosts for a long time separately.

Well that sort of answers everything but 3. Well I have to agree with PTeppic, a waste of resources for no real purpose. He'd probably be more busy trying to put down minor Goa'ulds, stop the system lords from vaporising themselves whilst maintaining control over his other worlds.
