i was just reading an article and Shrek 2 is due to be released during the first half of 2004 but it didnt have ne details about the storyline...
i can't wait already!!

SciFi Wire -- Julie Andrews will voice the character of Princess Fiona's mother in the upcoming animated sequel Shrek 2, the Dark Horizons Web site reported. Andrews joins a voice cast which includes Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy, who all reprise their roles from the original, and John Cleese, who will provide the voice of Fiona's father.

Quite a cast lined up for this.

More Shrek Sequels Coming

Just one day after Shrek 2 set records at the box office, Dreamworks has announced that it will move forward with a third and a fourth installment in the franchise centering around the not-so-jolly green ogre, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ann Daly, head of Dreamworks Animation, told the trade paper that the studio will take the films one at a time and is in final talks with the principal voice actors to return for two more films.

The well-reviewed Shrek 2 exceeded all expectations its opening weekend, taking in a record $129 million in five days and earning a three-day total of $108 million, second only to Spider-Man's tally of $114.8 million in 2002. "It wasn't really advisable to start working on three and four until we knew that we actually had something in two," Daly said. "And certainly this weekend confirmed that we do."

I can't wait to go and see this film (I have to wait a few weeks though til after exams :evil. I absolutely love Shrek, so I'm hoping that the sequel will be just as good. I'm not sure about doing a 3rd and 4th one though - are there that many story-lines they could come up with that involve ogres?
