The following info is floating around the Internet for UPN broadcasts in the USA:

Jan. 7 - Showtime #7.11

Jan. 14 - Funky Flubs
This is a UPN bloopers show, but no info yet on whether Buffy scenes will be included.

Jan. 21 - Potential #7.12

Jan. 28 - Help #7.04 (repeat)

Neat Info, Thanks

I just printed out this info. I am real keen on seeing some of this stuff. Thanks:rolly2:

Thanks, Tabuno, as we find out more we'll let you know.

February is another sweeps month, so I doubt we'll see any repeats that month. That is also the month that Buffy's birthday is celebrated - what a coincidence. I don't think it's a spoiler to say that there is no news yet on rather there will be a birthday episode, but there has been one every season since Season Two.

Don't worry, if I do hear of one, I won't spoil it for everyone, but I haven't heard anything yet. I'm just expecting one.

I'm also hoping that we'll see some funny blooper scenes from Buffy. I expect that the "Funky Flubs" will be heavily Paramount-produced shows (i.e.: Enterprise, Twilight Zone) but I'm still hoping. After all, Buffy's one of their most popular shows, there has to be some just to draw an audience, right?

[BTW sweeps months = (for those who may not know) a few times a year - November, February - US TV networks measure their ratings and use those figures to develop advertising rates for the next few months.

That is why suddenly after a slow period EVERY show has blockbuster episodes at the same time.

After suffering from reruns and dull TV, they hit you with tons of unexpected deaths, suprising plot developments and cliffhangers. You almost have to have your VCR ready just to keep track of all the good stuff on. Then after they've gone overboard, they settle back into "regular programming" again.

And so it goes.]

Wow sounds like its kinda confusing keeping up with shows out there. Here a show runs on a certain day at a certain time every week. And apart from special programmes like fro christmas they dont interrupt that schedule. Meaning a series is shown in order every week at the same time. Reruns are shown on other channels and at different times of the day but I always know Buffy is Thursday nights a 8pm. Even after a break in series the new series comes back on at the same time on the same day. phew I dont think I'd keep up if I had to figure out when to watch lol.

What Schedule?

If I interpreted you correctly, a new Buffy episode comes out each week except for Christmas specials. Sounds somewhat impossible, but if true you are really lucky. :( I've been watching reruns interspersed with new episodes this whole season and I'm really mixed up with the schedule in Utah, USA.:dead:

Yeah - the tv schedules in the US are really weird -

from late Sept - the end of Nov we get New eps - w/ Nov being the 'cream of the crop' so to speak (the shows they advert the heck out of to make ppl watch), then reruns in Dec - unless there is a special 'holiday' ep they want to air; then either in late Jan or Early Feb - more shows - Feb being another 'sweeps' month (cream of the crop again), and we get new eps in Feb and March, I think reruns in April, then May is another sweeps - and the end of the season - season finales usually pop up here -

it's very odd - and you sometimes really have to be on your toes to make sure you don't miss a new ep ---

Wow confusing, I would miss loads!
Yep tabuno you understood me correctly. We get a new ep at the same time every week. And with shows like Buffy that start the new season in Jan we dont get any breaks becuase there is nothing like christmas to interrupt it. Re runs dont get shown till the season has completely finished. But then again we have to wait a few months longer to get the shows so by then they have all been filmed, where maybe you guys have to wait for filming to finish? We also end up with the "special" episodes shown at the wrong time. When its christmas in Sunnydale its usually March here, lol.

Oh and I found out from the Stargate forum that becuase we get new shows every week we sometimes get to see the season finale before the states! (Happens with Stargate) Even tho we start the season later we end up catching up and taking over, wierd huh?

Yeah - part of why we get reruns is the 'waiting for filming' thing to finish - but that's more b/c of how they have the filming schedule set -- it's really strange - mostly, it's an advertising thing - the advertisers want to know when to put out their 'really great' ads - so we have sweeps months - and the 'cream of the crop' episodes are aired and advertisers run their best commercials ---

It's all capitalistic - and we do sometimes suffer for it

Well, if memory serves, Buffy ends in the US slightly before it does on Sky1 and, I believe, it begins the next season before or barely after the last season finale is shown on "terrestrial" UK TV.

Of course, all this depends on many variables, including how many shows are shown in the US as double episodes. For instance, last season's finale was shown as two episodes seamlessly together in the US (and rebroadcast on this year's Christmas Eve in that same form) and as two one-hour weekly episodes in the UK.

Write this one down, kiddies - "Everything in life has trade-offs - it's good and it's bad."

Knowing exactly when an episode is going to appear is a great plus, but having the flexibility to show two episodes in one night or even to show an episode like "Once More with Feeling" that runs more than one-hour, has its advantages.

Commercials are terrible interruptions to the story and the vast majority of my archive is recorded without commercials, but considering how paternalistic and backward the US government can be, I am very glad that they have little to do with what appears on my TV.

To end on an on-topic note:

I have seen two descriptions of the "Funky Flubs" show and so far Buffy is NOT one of the shows from which outtakes are included.
