(I'm passing this on at the request of Adele, dated Tuesday afternoon. Make sure you read all of it to get the full picture)

Latest news break:

Chris advised us just a matter of days ago that he is so busy filming he can't join us at this event, if that was not enough, in the last 24 hours we have found out that Michael has a major
family problem & therefore cannot join us.

I have been able to get Peter Williams - Apophis & Dan Shea - Sgt Siler & RDA's stand in to jump in and join us.

We have also added Lani Tupu & Jonathan Hardy to the line up, so it will still be a great convention.

Needless to say I have not slept in the last 24 hours.

Talk to you soon,

Adele

I think that is who I am, just slightly demented !

Now to make it even more interesting Peter Williams has just got a film role, so he will not be joining us, Dan Shea is a hockey coach & he has a role in an ice hockey movie with Kurt Russell, BUT we do have Colin Cunningham who has agreed to cut
his holiday short to help us out

This feels like the never ending story!

The line up now is:

Colin Cunningham, Anthony Simcoe, David Franklin,
Lani Tupu, and Jonathan Hardy.

Adele

As the address book in Netscape keeps on falling over, please pass this e-mail to anyone you think may be interested,

Thank you,

Adele

(NB: I wanted to separate my comments from Adele's original message)

I can confirm that we are trying to pin Michael and Chris down so we can conduct a live phone interview (that the whole audience can hear) on one or both days of the weekend. This will allow them to take some questions from attendees and explain in their own words what has happened.

The details are still up in the air, and will only be confirmed when everyone is in Sydney on Friday and we can conduct a live test of the equipment (thus ensuring that at worst, we have a "recorded" interview with them :D )

See you there!

im suprised how many times has this happened.
man im glad i didnt pay for tickets.
no offence. :)

you guys must be spewing eh? :p

who are all those other guys commin apart from colin?

The other guests are all Farscape actors (and/or voice actors). Two of them were originally just going to be there to sign autographs.

Well, that sucks big time. But these things do happen...

Best wishes to Michael: I hope whatever it is turns out OK in the end.

And I'm pleased for Peter. I know he actually turned down a role on Andromeda to do some events in Europe a few months back. So it must be a good role!

I've not seen any of the actors on the guestlist now, but I've heard great things about them. Hopefully it will turn out to be a great con inspite of the letdowns.

Invasion of Privacy !

Hi,

I am not impressed that details of something as private & confidential as why MS is unable to come to Australia this week has been made public and has been so heavily promoted. Now I have seen the same types of posts appear on various message boards & forums. It's like a wild fire that is getting out of control.
What should be realized is that this is a private matter that should never have been made public, that should never have been communicated to people. It is an invasion of MS's privacy and no one else has the right to decide what is right or wrong to do except the person it concerns themselves.

Furthermore, I cannot see how the agent would have allowed something so private & personal to be allowed to be made public in the first place. How many people did the agent tell ? One !

I will no longer be helping out or attending BOBW conventions. The reasons for this are my own and who I choose to tell. With what has been going on in the last few days, the promotion of private events for MS, I could not let it pass without putting in my two cents worth. All I can say is 'shame, shame, shame' on whoever decided it was in their interests to let out this information.

Regards,

Arthur

Actually I've found that this is the most negative board, and that negativity has only been BEFORE Rowan posted some more details about why Michael couldn't come (in the Conventions forum). In other places I've found the main response has been support and concern for Michael and his family.

It also seems to me that Michael may well have asked his agent to pass the message on. Especially since from the info Rowan gave, he's hoping to tell the fans more on Saturday by remote link up.

Privacy is an issue of course, but I think people have largely just shown respectful concern in this case. There are no crowds decending on LA to gawp. I and many others have met Michael: why shouldn't I be concerned for someone I've met and liked?

I actually have more problem with your post in a way. If people have paid to go to a con, then I think it's only polite for a guest to tell them why if they can't attend. What's OK to give as a reason for not coming to a convention then? Is it OK to say it's for work, which is a nice reason, but not to tell the fans when **** happens? Michael had a good reason for not coming. Isn't it better to say it than just not to turn up and let people really speculate, and/or think bad of him? Do you only want comfortable, nice reasons?

YEAH!! listen to the man!!! we got capsican spray, battons and handcufffs!!

Shhhhh Marty. Don't tell them what happens in our bedroom :rolly2:

Just to stop spurious questions from anyone out of the loop this week: As you can see from the initial message I posted from Adele (BOBW), I had permission to do this.

To date, on this forum at least, there has been no panic or "private/confidential" information released that I am aware of. Certainly stating that MS isn't coming for "Family reasons" is clear enough, without violating anyones privacy.

We don't care about BOBW conventions anymore anyway. We don't go to them anymore.

I don't even know why the info was posted here.

LOL@RaTY & Marty.
You two crazy kids.

Hello all! Long time no see! But when I saw this thread, I just couldnt resist!
I mean, Chris Judge AND Michael Shanks, thats too good to be true. Thankfully Ive learnt from the only bobw con Ive been to.

Then you are in the minority Shelby. The rest of us do care, and want to be kept up to date.

Everyone who wasn't here this weekend missed a fantastic time, from Colin Cunningham just being so cool (as usual), to Jonathan and Lani demonstrating live what voiceovers involves for Farscape (and auctioning off a rare unfinished tape of a late fourth season episode which was used by them to do their voiceover work), to Anthony and his lead guitarist performing several numbers instead of just repeating the same answers to the same 'ol Farscape questions, and then showing us a short film of his making which hasn't been seen anywhere yet (that involved half the Farscape cast as guest actors or helpers).

And of course, we had Dan Shea and Peter Williams live on the phone to give us an update of what they are doing and take questions from the audience.

(and that was just Sunday, with the exception of Dan, who we rang on Saturday...!)

Hmmm, I really should get to the wrap party now...

Photos will be up on my site as usual sometime in the next week or so, whenever I get a suitable break from work.

No, I'm afraid I'm with the majority on this one.

Not on this board we don't care. If we ever hear the words BOBW again it'll be too soon.

Don't speak for everyone. I'm sure there are people here who would interested about info for BOBW. They're not spamming so if you're not interested in it just don't go into the threads, ignore them. Is that so hard?
