Hey all! (Hope this is the right place to post this one ...)
GateWorld is searching for a new episode reviews writer ... and it could be you! Please read on if you're interested.
A few quick qualifications for the job:
- You must be 18 or over
- You must be a big fan of Stargate!
- You must receive the Friday evening broadcast of new episodes on The Sci-Fi Channel
- Some formal training and/or experience in writing is preferred, but not required
- Reviews become the property of GateWorld
Still reading? Good! It's pretty simple, really. You watch Stargate. You do your usual critical thinking about the episode. You write a 700 to 900 word review of the episode. (Avoid simply describing / recapping scenes -- assume your reader has seen the episode. Your job is to critically analyze the episodes themes, story, production values, character use, etc.) You e-mail it to Darren. You see it published on the site. You win fame and the adoration of your peers!
This is a volunteer, unpaid position. Reviews are due preferably by Sunday evening following each new episode -- Monday at the latest. Visit the Articles section of GateWorld to find lots of samples of our past reviews, if you'd like to get a feel for what we're looking for: http://www.gateworld.net/articles/index.shtml . (I also highly recommend to you the Star Trek and Andromeda reviews of Michelle Erica Green at TrekToday.com and SlipstreamNews.com.)
