Do they do Draco justice?

Ya know as much as I like the Harry Potter movies, as far as I'm concerned they never make Draco look like anything more than a slight annoyance instead of the real pain in the backside he is in the books. Does anyone else feel like this?

Draco really is a nasty little piece of work but I don't think they want to give him that "arch enemy" status that Voldemort has.
Personally I think Draco is just a trouble maker whos fathers opinions have had way too much influence on him.
It's a shame the film had to cut out so many of the Harry/Ron/Hermione/Draco confrontations.
Not spoiling anything, but there's a nice confrontation in the 3rd book between Hermione and Draco that I hope they keep in the next movie :)

Ahh yes, I think I know the one you mean :D.

I actually kind of felt sorry for Draco when he and Harry went head to head for the golden snitch in the COS.
The lad gets thrown off his broom, lands smack down on his butt and instead of looking concerned, his father looks more ashamed.

Hmm --

Was thinking about this -- he's not nearly as 'evil-ish' in the movie as he is in the book (Just finished the book) - he's described quite well in the book -

and I think that when the movie skipped the scene in the robe shop - where Harry actually first meets Malfoy - it takes away from the 'school bully' feel of Malfoy. If they'd kept that scene - I think their little discussion about wizarding families on the stairs at Hogwarts would have had even MORE impact. Malfoy would have realized that he missed an opportunity to try to sway 'the great Harry Potter' to his side first - but that 'visual' is missing b/c they skipped that scene.

*tries to remember everything in the book*

Nope - can't - but I do remember stuff that was left out in the movie - for timeliness, I'd guess - but not so much so that it was bothersome --

Gotta love that whole book - movie comparison stuff -

I agree with H2. I read the book first, which many would have, so you already know about the first meeting in the robe shop. I don't think that if you saw the film first you would get the same impact.

I was very surprised when I first watched the film and it was missing -- I know that they can't possibly keep everything -- I don't know how they can possibly film Books 4 & 5 -- but that scene was very important and should have been kept in.

Actually - I saw the film first then read the book then watched the film again - and it didn't have as much impact the 1st time -

Draco, to me, was just annoying - an annoying spoiled-brat kid who needed a good spanking

In the book he was a bit more menacing -

Also, in the movie - he looks like a short version of Spike w/ a widow's peak - and that totally threw me off --- I almost kept expecting him to show up in that standard cheesey Dracula outfit - the black cape w/ the red silk lining and the high-pitched collar - and start running around screaming - 'bwahahahaha!' -- it was just really strange
