The Bracelet

I noticed throughout S6 (or at least some of the later eps), Jack has been wearing the beady bracelet thing on his wrist, and someone i know says they saw Sam wearing one too...anyone have any idea why? Is some crew/cast jewelry that they forgot to take off, or what?

What was said about Amanda Tapping's bracelet at Gatecon 2002 was that it was a gift from a real Army or AF person. She went on some tour of bases somewhere. I think I heard the custom was to wear it until it fell apart. Seeing that the bracelet was in character she insisted she wear it when working as Sam Carter.

The guy that gave it to her that his
team was wearing them and they
wouldn't take them off until everyone
gets back home safely. So Amanda
deceided to do the same. She
said she hasn't taking it off since
he put it on her.

Has for Jack's Bracelet.
Rick said he got from his
last trip to Tibet. I believe
it was a give too. But I'm
not sure on that.

Okay. That makes a lot of sense. It's likely some kind of prayer bracelet then with a set number of beads for counting prayers. Here's the best shots I could capture of the bracelet.
