A new student, Cyrus, attracts Clark's attention when bullies gang up on him and he starts a fire, seemingly with his eyes. Cyrus has a history of mental problems because he claims to be an alien. Clark gains his confidence and discovers Cyrus tries to monitor transmissions from space. When Lana's horse is ill, Cyrus shows up and cures it with a burst of yellow energy, that and the fact he has dreams of Clark's spaceship convince Clark he is from Krypton, even though Chloe determines Cyrus faked the fire.

Cyrus asks for Clark's help in building a transmitter when the school bullies move in and Clark has to reveal his own powers to Cyrus. Then Cyrus gets taken in for psychiatric testing and Clark breaks him out. Chloe finds out Cyrus may have been the orphan of parents killed in the shower. The bullies attack Cyrus at his transmitter tower and almost wreck it, one of them gets his neck broken and Clark convinces Cyrus to heal the bully rather then leave, but he suffers a mental breakdown in the process.

Meanwhile, Helen and Lex have some issues since Helen hasn't moved in yet. Once she does she finds a locked room that stands as a symbol of Lex's lack of trust. Lex eventually shows her the room with all of Lex's evidence of his suspicions about Clark. And Martha eventually goes to Dr. Bryce about her pregnancy since she already knows about Clark's alien blood, putting her in a tight situation.

This one was okay! The alien jokes and the smirky look on Clark's face saying, "If you only knew!" made it rather tiresome for me.

Now that Martha has gone to Dr. Bryce, will her love for Lex make her betray Martha?

Yep... That's my prediction. The sample of Clarkies blood will eventually become a clone knows as "Bizzaro" (is that how it's spelled?) Remember, her favorite field in medicine is research. She'll probably be the lead scientist on the cloning project.

I thought the ep was OK. I was just bothered by the idea of this young kid building that huge transmitter all by himself. It looked like it really did transmitt something - even if only light. What bothered me was that A) he's not an alien, so how did he get the know how - especially if he wasn't in school much but rather in hospitals, and B) he's just one kid and much effort would have to be put into something like that - and how long was he in Smallville??? couple of weeks. Ya, right!

EDIT: I also want to know how the kid was able to get the coordinates to Krypton??? Since he's a mental vegetable now, that leaves the door open for future possibilities. In the original Superman comic stories, wasn't there another male survivor of krypton? Also, wasn't there Supergirl - another survivor of Krypton. It would be cool if they do bring in another Krypton at some point.

i thought this ep was ok. one thing i didnt really understand tho was y clark didnt tell cyrus that his "apparent" home planet-krypton blew up and that therefore cyrus' real parents are dead. This wudve prevented cyrus from tryin 2 get in contact with them...and everything else.

Not bad ep tho :D
