Anyone going to that Gatecon?

I'm hesitating right now cause it's really expensive. Besides the ticket, I need to pay a hotel room plus travel and food. That makes it a lot of money for three days...

Yes you do have a kind of Gatecon in Germany. It's going to take place in October somewhere near Frankfurt.
 
Hi. 'Gatedays' in Germany is NOT run by the organisation who run Gatecon. It's run by Loge events (I think that's the right name) who work very closely with Wolf Events in the UK (who run the SG1, SG2 etc conventions) and often share guests with them.

Hope that clarifies things.

As to your original question... yes, con-going is an expensive hobby. You also need to budget in autographs. I don't know about Gatedays, but I should think they'll use the same system as Wolf since they work with them. Wolf allow you to get one personal item (that can be something your brought with you, or your con program) signed for free. After that it's usually £10 per photo bought from the official table.

Don't worry though. You'll catch the bug, and maybe next year you'll be like me, trying to raise a couple of thousand (or whatever it is in Euros...) to have a blast in Vancouver for Gatecon!

Yeah you are right...its the same as Wolfs con..I was at the one last year in fact Bryan and Simon were there from Wolf Events.
It was a great con last year...should be a blast this year too but Im off to Wolf SG6 this year...closer to home for me! :D
