This was pointed out on another message board I visit --
Lydia Chalmers' Thesis on William the Bloody
It's very well done (lots of fun to read too!), and is done in a 'thesis' format - so, some of the language is a bit dry, but it's worth the read for the information (some canon-based, some not), and the theories. I'm not sure how many people worked on it - but they obviously put a great deal of time and effort into it, formulating things and setting them up to look 'thesis-ish' and such.
Give it a look -- even if you're not a Spike fan per se - it's worth the read - just for the effort involved!
