If Smith isn't part of the machines system anymore and he kills other agents, then why did the machines leave Bane/Smith at the end. He was the only one that survived. I can not figure that out.

i forgot...one more thing

Did you realize that when Smith got in front of Neo/Morpheus/Keymaker in the "back door" hallway that he might of done it for a reason? If he hadn't, they would of have opened the door too soon and everyone would of died. Just anoth though to bake your noodle.

hmm good thought Bartada about Smith "saving" Neo and gang?

as for first question, I reckon Bane used his power in "real world" similiar to Neo did at the end...and they both went into a coma coz their minds are trapped between 2 worlds...perhaps as a failsafe by machines for anyone figuring out the truth about real world?

i think that was just coincidence. he really _was_ trying to stop them because he thought neo would do like the other five and return to the source, thus, rebooting the matrix, and destroying smith. the only way smith could take over the matrix is if neo either died or chose the other door. [the latter of which ALL machines predicted he would do, though he didnt of course]

another thing to back this up is smith blowing away the keymaker..if he was just buying them time, he would have left as soon as they got through the door alright.

your theory would involve smith having previous knowlegde of the matrices. given he knew of the history of the matrix, i dont think he would have been "destroyed" after the reboot of the matrix. if he was, the he would have had no prior knowledge of the five other neos.

i would say he more likely is a program that was recently added by the architect, as a kind of sick game that he was playing, with fate. but mine is a theory as flawed as your own.
ah well.

until i had seen the trailer for revolutions, i had the idea that maybe smith and neo would double team the matrix in the end, but it doesnt look that way...i always love when the bad guy joins the good guys to fight the REALLY bad guy.

i actually had that idea also. but it disappeared when i saw that trailer also. it is cool when they punch each other and they both go flying back. i was surfing the internet today and saw a page about a new matrix video game coming out in 2004 that is set after revolutions. it is called the matrix online.
an interesting thing about this game is the matrix is still up and running so they don't destroy it in the next movie. weird.
it is going to be some huge online game where you can intereact with other people. there is a link to get on a list to try out the beta. just search for "the matrix online" and you should be able to find it.

Edited to add spoiler block.

please put a spoiler box on ur last post bartada, some people might not wanna know that information. An interesting point though has been made how did bane/smith survive, would he just have been destroyed by the machines? (guess we will have to wait till november to find out:p):rolly2:

That is unless Smith (and the other agents of his "generation") was created with that information already in his program. Smith obviously knows about the previous "Ones" because of his "It's happening exactly as before" line to another version of himself right at the beginning.

Remember, as programs, Smith and others like him can be created with whatever information is relevent to their task. Previous run ins with a savior or even just a very special human would be necessary to an agent program, especially when the system is anticipating a return of that special One in the future. Smith didn't necessarily have to be around (and I don't think he was) in earlier versions of the Matrix... he just had to have that particular information. The new (upgraded) agents already knew about Neo even before they faced him for the first time.

But I doubt that Smith was, in any way, trying to aid Neo. It is interesting to mull over the question of how Bane managed to survive the assault, however. Maybe he "felt" the difference in the "real world" and got stuck wherever Neo is now and his body survived because his mind doesn't know that it's supposed to be dead. All the others saw their death coming and obediently died.

One of the ETM movies clearly
show Bane killing his crewmates then prematurely setting off the EMP when all the ships still bunched together (they were meant to form a line just far enough from each other's EMP in Lock's plan)

One very interesting Oracle quote which she says TWICE is that the path of the One is based on the actions of the many (e.g. Niobe)...

Edited to add spoiler box.

Thanks, cersei, but I put in a spoiler box for that. :D Hope you don't mind.

Now, if only I can make it through the game. :D

oops sorry pkgrl, i should have added spoiler box.

can anyone get me a save game which has ALL cut scenes in them? maybe Spudnik can help ;)

understandably, the cut scenes are different for both players (niobe and ghost). one game cannot contain all the cut scenes., but even then, there are a few scattered ones that can be skipped over if you know where youre going, or what youre doing.

but ill send you one cersei, and hope you can find what youre looking for.
