Hi all. ok I saw this lovely glossy 192 pages Enter the Matrix Official Strategy Guide and just could not resist.....sure, you can find very detailed guides online and if you as good as Spudnik, don't even need one...but as a collector of things Matrix, this is a Must-Buy! Enclosed lovely 4 page pull-out with timeline from Second Renaissance till Reloaded.

Ok, lot of juicy details inside and for those that won't be dishing out the £9.99 or US$14.99, I will post them gradually on this thread

To start with, the names of the 10 rebel fleet hovercrafts and their captains (are they more than these 10? book not clear on this)

Nebuchadnezzar..........Morpheus (DUH!)
Logos...........................Niobe
Vigilant.........................Soren
Osiris........................... Thadeus (as shown in Animatrix)
Caduceus.....................Ballard (ie Bane's captain)

now for the rest, most of which not named in movie..

Gnosis..........................Ice
Mjolnir...........................Roland
Novalis..........................Tirant
Icarus...........................Ajax
Brahma.........................Kali

lots of meanings in most if not all these names...but I will let you all mull over them first :)

Well, since I love talking about the meaning of names, let's hit Bane's ship first. :D I think it's an interesting name (I wonder if the captains choose the ship name?) especially in light of what Dave posted about Bane's name:
1. A fatal injury or ruin
2. A cause of harm, ruin, or death
3. A deadly poison.
Since the caduceus is a symbol of healing (and other things, if you check out mythology) and Bane most definately is not, I find this juxtaposition interesting.

Ballard! I knew I knew that name. Inside the Matrix, he's pretty courageous, eh? Willing to stick around when Morpheus asks, but unwilling to go back, against Lock's orders, to help find "the One." But I did love his line to Bane: "Shut your hole, Bane, before I put you in one." :D

More to say on this later. Gotta get to work!

Yeah Ballard is pretty cool. There is a great short FMV of him fighting Seraph in order to meet the Oracle...to Seraph explaining, "You have to fight someone in order to know them", he replies (can't remember exact phrase) "oh yeah, you know I was going to kick your butt"

Pkgrl if u need help unlocking those FMV movies, send me a pm and I will let u know how

i think that just qualified as a spoiler...am i right?

maybe not... its ok. i can also help you decoding the secrets of that book cersei. its got some really funky codes.

cool spudnik. if there are more secrets in this book, feel free to let me know :)
