This one is such huge news, I have to share! In brief:
* TV Guide will feature SG-1 on the cover of the July 26 issue (RDA and MS)
* The issue will confirm that the show has been renewed for an eighth season
* The issue will have info on the spin-off "Stargate Atlantis," still on track for 2004
* ... and last, but certainly not least, an interview with RDA. 8)

Yep... Gateworld and Stargate Solutions both got the PR release and a copy of the cover art via an email release from the TV Guide press folks, along with a few other sites and publications.

I'm fine for another season, but I want some solid Daniel and Jonas eps -- two handsome, brilliant men dealing with the interpretation of an archeological thingie. I thought their interaction was great in the S7 opener and want more more more.

Yes! From Downtown! I am very happy to see that Season8 will happen. I wonder how much RDA will be in it? Webmous is right! We need to have Jonas come back. If O'Neill is "retired" from the show (in Season8), it can only be to that planet from "A Hundred Days". He should not be, killed, mutated, mamed, blown-up, replaced by mini-Jack clone, made insane, "taken" by Asgard, stranded on some planet or made unreal by some silly time-travel goof up. If RDA leaves the show, it should be a nice exit via the Edora Stargate. Colonel O'Neill and Laira live happily ever after.

Season8 SG1 could be Sam, Teal'c, Danny and Jonas (if RDA left). I hope that RDA will stay for Season8, but I would understand if he left. Well keep your fingers crossed that Atlantis is not going to be set in the past (boooooo!) like they (UPN) did to Enterprise.

Oh i agree whole heartedly, i really enjoyed their interaction in the season opener and would be expecting that if RDA *were* to take a very limited role in the 8th season, that Jonas would pop up more often (or it could just be wishful thinking )

Well, with an S8 *and* the spin-off, there's a chance for just that. The SGC is gonna need trained staff and there's no doubt that Jonas fits that bill.

Wahey, can't believe their gonna go for an 8th series, I'd kinda resigned myself to 7 being the last. Hope they've got enuff material for it, I'm getting a bit cynical about fantastic shows carrying on past their sell-by date. (I've been hurt before, sniff sob )

(won't stop me watching it mind you, eye-candy is eye-candy, even with the sound off, mwahahahahaha :evil: )

Good news that SG1 is carrying on for an eighth season. I do hope that Corin Nemec doesn't leave altogether. It would be such a shame. Hes played a brilliant character in Jonas.
