I'm getting really confused with the regards of stargate's future. There's an eighth season confirmed and atlantis has a green light, is the film still going to be made or is it being held back.

I did hear that the film was going to be turned into a two parter instead of a major feature film, but how true this is, is anyone's guess. Best place to go to get any information seems to be Gateworld.

Darren usually gets all the scoop on stuff like that.

Yeah, they are using the plot for the movie as Season 7's two-part finale. I did hear that they are still planning a feature film (obviously the plot will be differant--hopefully wrap up most of the stories that have been on SGC exept for those that will be used in Atlantis), but I dunno if it's true.

Last thing I heard...

Last thing I heard was the movie was on hold, Season 8 was going ahead and they were gonna try and launch the spin-off tv series along with S8.

But that was a couple of weeks ago and things change in this area almost hourly, it seems...;)

You guys are so lucky us scapers can't even get a stinkin 4pt mini series to end the series. Here you people have a move deal and a spinoff and 8th season. I think it is because the show is actually good. Can't attribute it to much else.

understand ...

Being a 'Born-Again Scaper' myself [one who came into the show later than the beginning and was hooked], I think some of the problem was the show got too 'internal' toward the end of S3 and the beginning of S4. If you didn't watch every week, you couldn't follow what was going on.

Interestingly enough, those same concerns were voiced by a couple of the actors I had a chance to meet last Jan in Australia - that the scripts had become very 'in' and if you didn't follow things very closely, it was easy to get turned around.

The script that was meant to be for the new movie will be used for the 2-part season finale.
Season 7 will be ended and will have a lead in into Atlantis.
The story is about the 'Lost City'.
Probably season 8 will pick up where it was left at the end of 7 with SG-1.
Atlantis will pick up some with another team.

The new movie will be at the end of the Stargate SG-1 serie and will hopefully wrap up the stories.

Yeah, I agree totally. I got into Farscape when I was in the US on holiday and thought it rocked. I didn't see it when it first started in the UK, so when I finally got to see some episodes, it was the latter seasons and had already wandered far beyond my comprehension. I did try to watch it, but it had lost its grip for me. I still think the first couple of seasons were the best. It's a shame but I think they definitely 'lost the plot' at some stage!

I have many issues with Stargate, however, they have pretty much stuck to their guns (no pun intended!). Only in the aspect of the lack of Goa'uld development do they fall down in my opinion. The acting is always good and the episodes generally easy to follow. It's quite easy for someone to just wander in in the middle of the season and sort of get the gist of the concept of the show. I think that's what makes it good viewing, even for me, whose favourite character bit the dust in Season Four.

  Doesn't stop me doing my critiques though!

;)
