what is the saddest episode in your opinion?
:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Oops!

Sorry about this, but I just thought I'd let you know that the episode in which Daniel dies was called "Meridian". "Revelations" was the episode AFTER.

I wouldn't say that "Between Two Fires" was sad at all, I would've nominated "Cold Lazurus" instead as it really is moving (especially the scene where duplicate-Jack turns into Charlie and does that whole "I am still there inside you" bit).:crying:

Yeah, Cold Lazarus was sad ...
But very good acting wise.

The saddest episode for me is definitely "Divide and Conquer", because it came as such a shock that Martouf died.

I admit I totally cried my eyes out at Meridian when Daniel died, but there was a comfort zone, because I knew what was going to happen in the episode before I watched it, and because I knew he was being ascended, not really leaving us forever.

ps - I'll fix the poll

How about the back 1/4 of "Singularity", when Sam has to take Cassie to her death, and then leave her?

just look at naim's weeping eyes

Of the choices, I think Meridian was the saddest, but theres also been loads of other really sad eps. Can't remember them all though.

Saddest....

Stargate has done a remarkable job with mixing sadness and joy - human strength and human fraility. Sometimes the saddest episodes [Meridian, Cold Lazarus, D&C, Between Two Fires using the episodes already mentioned] allow the character to display a strength and depth of purpose another incident may not have brought to the surface.

Meridian: the triumph of the soul.

Cold Lazarus: O'Neill's depth of caring for his family.

Divide and Conquer: Martouf's inner strength of honor and will even when compromised.

Between Two Fires: Narium's concern and feeling for the good of his people and his friends of the Tau'ri.

Singulaitry: Sam's concern for Cassie.

There are many more examples and I'm sure we each have special ones that touched us.

Good thread, Thor. Thanks!:D

Either Meridian or Prophecy, but they were sad for different reasons - Daniel's ascension was heartbreaking, especially his goodbyes to the rest of SG-1, but in Prophecy we saw Jonas struggle with the concept that the only way he would be accepted was to go as far as to die to prove himself, i found this so sad.

So I think I would vote Prophecy.

Except for Narim, losing the Tollan wasn't particularly sad for me. After all, the High Council was doing deals with Anubis, murdered one of their own and willing to sacrifice Earth.

I thought you might include "Forever In A Day" as an emotionally moving episode.

It's just a damn shame the Tolans were caught in that situation, they have advanced technology the goa'uld want, give it over or be destroyed. On the other hand give it over and Earth, who has saved their asses so many times, won't be able to save them any more.

Fortunatly earth is still in one piece

I reckon that narim, when he transmitted the final message aboard a ship was being chased by the goa'uld. The transmission died because they had to go into hyper space to escape, trying to make it to another stargate occupied world. One day in season seven or eight narim is going to walk through that iris.

It's a possibility but not likely.

:angryfire bring back narim:angryfire

look at his distruction:crying: :crying:

You really like Narim, don't you?

I found him a bit insipid, but started warming to him in that last ep.

he saved earth thats gotta make someone grow on you. He also bridged the gap between earth and the tolan in the first episode the tolan were in
