size of the gates

Title says it all...what are the dimesnions of a Stargate?

I'm going to build a model (from scratch), and would prefer it be to scail. Any help would be apreciated.

EDIT: Let's throw the DHD in there as well.

the gates exact size, not sure... but i do know this...

they are 2 stories high...

It seems to change, actually. Look when Daniel and Teal'C first go to Abydos in Secrets. It seems a lot smaller in tghat shot than it does in other episodes. I guess maybe the abydos gate could be smaller (nothing says that all gates are the same size, actually...) but it's still a bit odd.

They are different - at least in real life.

The main one in the 'gateroom' [the stock set] is one size. There are a couple that are moved around for location shoots and there are each a bit different in size [and the ones in later seasons are a different size than the ones early on] and the one that gets moved over to the other set for 'indoor' shots is a different size than the 'main' gateroom one.

Now, I admit, not always by much, but depending on shooting angle and such, it can certainly look significantly different.

I'd say it's 10 feet high as an approximation.
