When a chevron locks. say the top one, locks it goes down and back up with an orange light on symbolizing its locked...yet it also shakes after the lock....now from what i have heard naquda is a pretty stable metal...so should it really be shaking...?

Perhaps this is just because the REAL stargate isnt really made of naquada it is made of a...lesser material...

any comments?

Presumably the use of "stable" refers to its electrical and chemical properties, rather than its vibration characteristics. However, a mineral ring weighing about 64,000 lbs is liable to be very stable no matter what...

However, on top of that you have to factor in the massive forces at play when opening the wormhole. It's enough to shake the whole base, even with frequency dampeners: so if the glowing chevrons aren't really firmly fitted, maybe they shake a little?

Whoops *BOOM*

What about wear and tear if it isnt very 'fixed' it would rub down after the hundreds of years the gou'alds used it(im assuming hundreds of years because there are so many planets conilozed.
