My favourite one is Cronus, without a doubt. If I had to choose a second and third, it would be Bra'tac and Baal in that order.

But then I don't have a favourite principal character. I don't like any of the SG1 team characters at all.

BRIEF charecter appearances would be like Major Griff or Herak. Jacob/Selmak, Martouf, ect are recurring charecters, not reallty brief.

Well some have called me crazy, but not many have lived to tell the tale!

Sorry darlin. The character of Sam Carter has to be one of the most irritating it has ever been my misfortune to encounter. Along with Jack, who is possibly more, but at least just as irritating. No offence sweetie, because she is obviously your favourite and I'm not meaning to denigrate that, but she's either doe eyed and trembling mouthed or technobabbling until my eyes glaze over.

Speaking as a former soldier and an actual real live combat veteran who has seen real live action, I wouldn't rate her as an actual soldier. On a scale of 1-10, she would have come a minus 5 at least. I trained people in the military and she definitely would have come close to a busted mouth behind the bike sheds on more than one occasion. As soldiers, if she and Jack both had behaved in the insubordinate manner they behave in this series, they would have been courts martialled and out of the service by now. Neither of them would last two minutes on a real live professional military team and if one more person tells me that she's a 'wonderful role model' I will probably run amok with an axe. If fans want a role model, then they need to look for one in real life and not someone from a TV series who is a figment of someone's imagination.

I like Sam but I'm fed up to the back teeth with the way her role has been reduced over the past few seasons to that of the Colonel's fancy piece. I wish the writers would just forget she has two X-chromosomes and write accordingly.

And axe, Anni? Somehow, I kind of see you with a shoulder launched missile - or missal for our American sibs.

When I was a lot younger, I used to wonder what damage Inter-Continental-Ballistic prayer books could do.

I ,have to admit , carter is my favorite charecter, i do think she's a good role model for actors and i think she's really HOT . You have to remember this is a t.v. show and won't go exactly from the book on how to be a good soldier!:rolly2:

This is a very short list. And how does one rate the "recurrance" of a character? 2 shows? 3 shows? Multiple seasons?

System Lords are hard to add to the recurring characters list since they seemed destined to die at SG1 hands, but Lord Yu has been around for awhile. Baal has made 3 (?) appearances so I guess he counts. Nirrti showed up about the same. Chronos didn't appear much more than that. Apophis was nearly a regular for awhile and survived several demises (I've lost count.) Anubis is now the recurring bad guy we love to hate.

We've met some great Tok'ra besides Jacob/Selmak but like the System Lords, most seem destined to die. Malek has been a couple of eps, as has Freya/Anise. Martouf/Lantash was more enduring, but not immortal.

In addition to Bra'tac, there's Ry'ac (we've watched this kid grow up) and the Jaffa who saved Teal'c (character name escapes me)
There's Thor -- even if he is a puppet -- and Chaka with 3 appearances by S7.

And there's Harry Maybourne, Dr. Felger (2 shows by S7), Lt. Simmons, Maj. Davis, Dr. Kennedy, Harlan (2x) and on and on.

But my vote would go -- not to a character, but to an actor -- Dion Johnston. Look him up on IMDB and you'll see an impressive list of all those parts his played over the years on SG1, mostly hidden under latex. Now, that's recurring.

Well, I have mad love for Orlin, from Ascension. I used to be totally crazy about Sean Patrick Flanery (who seems to have improved with age ^^) and I happened to be channel surfing and happened to catch a glimpse of him. This wound up being the first episode of Stargate I ever watched, when it aired about 2 months ago. So you can blame a former infatuation for a new one.

I also enjoy Olin and the NID agent Malcom Barrett. It was great to see the interaction of Sam with this two characters.
