Bought this last week for the XBOX and have hardly stopped playing it. I think Lucas made a wise decision when he let an outside company develop this game, it really is the Final fantasy 7 of Starwars games, it's that good.
For anyone who doesn't know, Kinghts of the old republic is set some 4000 years before Starwars: A new hope. Sith Lord Darth Malick and his forces are slowly winning a war against the republic with no signs of being stopped. Into the frey steps yourself as a new member of the republic forces on a mission to escort a Jedi knight, this of course is not easy and in the openning sequence your ship is attacked by Sith forces hunting the Jedi you have aboard. The question is will you stay on the path of good and be the saviour of the galaxy, or will you turn to the Dark side and be come a dealer in misery and strife?
The game itself is an RPG, you get to choose from three character types and the start up you get depends on which one of these types you pick. The game story has a few twists and turns and actually let's you make the descision on whether you want to be a bad or good guy through various different actions during the game, and there by lies one of it's best points.
In my opinion it ranks up there with "Jedi outcast" as the sort game tie in we should have always been getting from the Lucas camp, let's hope they keep up the good work on future releases.
