That's not accurate Rowan
Rowan The Scifi Channel is not putting ads on for the original Battlestar Galactica on The Scifi Channel, what you are seeing is Scifi plugging the new version, Battlestar Galactica 2003 is what The Scifi Channel is selling, it would suffer next to TOS.
U R Wrong THIS NEVER HAPPENED:

The Sci-Fi channel has been pushing info on the DVD 'hidden parts' in it's commercials all this week. They seem pretty eager to make sure to tie in the DVD relase and the marathon. Rowan

Well Rowan, seeing how Battlestar Galactica was only made in the late '70's not the 60's, Rowan: "I watched the classic Battlestar Galactica when it was first shown in the late 1960's" alas this data is not accurate. The movie is the beginning of the Box Set released by Universal on the same date. The Show was on ABC in 1978 & 1979, not at all in the 60's. Glen Larsen helped the Beach Boys in the 60's, he wrote Adam's Ark the precursor of Battlestar Galactica in the 60's. Star Wars allowed ABC to allow his Adam's Ark idea to become Battlestar Galactica, in 1978.
OH YES YOU ARE ROWAN!
Originally posted by Rowan Dvo, I'm not getting the two *very* different projects confused. I am *not* seeing the ads for the mini-series. The ads I am talking about are audio ads that I first heard during the Stargate 5 hour block of episodes on Monday night and since at other times on Sci-Fi. No, I'm sorry I wasn't clear that these were only audio ads, not full A/V, but there you have it. They're being played.
The ads are there to try in the 'Classic' Battlestar Galactica marathon tomorrow [Monday,Oct 13th] with their pre-order page listing the entire 'Classic' series on DVD [release date Oct. 21, 2003]. *and* the Movie from 1978 [release date Oct. 21, 2003]. This is what I'm referring to: DVD

The Monday marathon is classic BSG. Here's the listed schedule .I'm very well aware of the difference in the two productions - I watched the classic Battlestar Galactica when it was first shown in the late 1960's. So, I'm not sure how much clearer I can be about this. People can go to the Sci-Fi site and check out what's happeneing when and make up their own minds as to what they want to watch.Rowan <who's been watching and reading SF since the early 1950's...

ROWAN THIS IS THE ONLY URL FROM SCIFI!

I tivo Stargate Mon., & that stupid Tremors & Stargate on Friday, it is the NEW Battlestar Galactica coming Dec. 8th that Scifi is plugging. Not TOS on DVD.
The Scifi Channel is owned by Universal Studios, this show is the result of a legal action between Universal & Glen Larson, the mini series is being made to maintain the franchise, Universal is doing this just doing Battlestar Galactica 2003 just to maintain the franchise.
Ron D. Moore, writer & producer and David Eick the producer are having a great deal of flak from continuation fans. There is one so called fan bboard for the mini, over a dozen for the 25 yaren old show.
Plus Glen Larsen & Tom DeSanto along with Richard Hatch are talking a Battlestar Galactica movie. Larsen also retained the right to produce a Battlestar Galactica.
