Peter H. Hamilton. The Nights Dawn Trilogy.

Has anyone out there read The Nights Dawn Trilogy.
My brother gave me the books to read and they blew me and my husband away. This is on a grand epic scale and there is so much happening with such great characters that these books can be read over and over again.

Before I get lots of replys, I know I made a mistake it's not Peter H... it's Peter F... sorry:(

Althought the following thread was created to discuss "The Reality Dysfunction", most of the replies address the whole series.

My opinion is that the series gets steadily worse as it progresses. By worse, I mean even more implausible and sappy. Key characters just have too many narrow escapes that the story gets boring. I also second knivescout's comment concerning the sex.

To be honest I've never found either of the Hamiltons particularly good writers. But the books are good reads, if you are in the mood for them.

F Hamilton has a habit of breaking into the sort of writing that used to be reserved for bad children's adventure stories with lots of 'and thens' (Enid Blyton eat your heart out). Pity there tends to be a lot of waffle between the action.

Moved to keep the thread greyhorse found company and title corrected.

Ive noticed that now there's a guide to the Nights Dawn universe called the confederation handbook. Its full of everything you could ever want to know concerning the novels.
