OK, Amazon has posted a bigger pic of the boxart. Anybody know who is on the first discs's spine? Sort of looks like Peter Deluise as a Goa'uld...

Assuming that is correct, why'd MGM put him on there? :( MGM is so random with their DVD Box Sets of SG1. It's sad.

Well, we had the demon Unas from Demons for Season 3 and Olukun for Season 5, so I'd believe it.

Ah - the drawback of commenting from this side of the Atlantic without having seen the previous seasons boxsets....

Yup. Season 1 the 5th disc was Apophis (which I can see), 2 was Hammond (IMO all seasons should have had Hammond on the 5th disc) and 4 was Thor. The backs of the boxes had some weird stuff too. 1 had a serpent gaurd, which is fine...2 has Thor which is fine...then 3 had the Demons Unas, 4 had the First Ones Unas, and 5 had Svarog's first prime. Crazy randomness.

Is doesn't stop there! The pic on the back of the Season 3 DVD for Shades of Grey is a scene that was deleted (and no deleted scenes appear on the DVDs), The pic for Nemesis is Carter KISSING Thor when he's on his bed thing (I dunno where that came from), and Season 5 lists a Stills Gallery on the first disc which for the life of me I cannot find.

Keep them coming... the stills are non existant. No one has the stills in region 1.

I hope with the possibility of season 8 being the last, MGM will make the Season 6, 7, and 8 ones better than the first 5. They do seem to be getting better but in extremely...and I mean extremely small/slow increments. :rolly2: No worries; keeping the hope alive... :p :D

Widescreen (and not just matted), with video quality that is usually unheard of on DVD and 5.1 tracks that just plain rule (especially for TV shows), plus commentaries for ALL episodes, and all for a VERY low 50ish bucks per season. This is atypical of TV shows on DVD. Look at shows like Star Trek or The Sopranos...expensive, not many extras and poor transfers. IMO MGM has really stepped up with the last two box sets. Sure, it's not AS good as it could be, but it's better than to be expected, better than average, so I am not complaining.

It's just that the people who put together the eventual box-art are either smoking huge amounts of rock, or have never seen the show.

Yes,dare I say it? The box art people were high and have never seen the show. :p
