That summary is not really what the story was about at all.

The one with the Mutiny on the Enterprise OR The one where Archer goes Bonkers!
I quite liked this one, and at least this hadn't quite been done before ('The Menagerie' TOS and 'Turnabout Intruder' TOS being similar.)
Archer gets sprayed by something (an egg chrysalis? I got distracted at the time and missed the vital part!) It contains some technobabble (writing credits by André Boremanis) that causes Archer to reverse-imprint on the Insect Xindii young. He then becomes obsessed with keeping them alive at all costs.
Archer doesn't get to thump anyone this week. T'Pol does appear to act stangely at first, questioning Archer's orders, but as Archer begins to act even stranger, we find that she was simply being logical.
She gets restricted to quarters, closely followed by Reed because he attacked an attacking Xindii ship.
Archer puts Hayes in charge of the bridge and although it would spoil the story, and even though Hayes went to West Point, I'm not sure that he would stick to his orders whatever, even though it was clear to everyone that the Captain had lost his marbles.
Just as Bones could do in TOS, Phlox can relieve the Captain of command if he thinks he is medically unfit. Phlox and Trip challenge the Captain on this in the presence of Hayes, but Phlox backs down when the Captain says that he will have them confined to quarters with Reed and T'Pol. Somehow, although Hayes follows orders to the letter, I don't think Hayes is stupid, so I think that Phlox should have at least tried to make him have a medical.
Mutiny is a serious thing to contemplate, especially as the scan revealed nothing abnormal.
Anyway, everything is forgotten in the end and they leave the Xindii young to die (did I say die? I meant get rescued very soon, sometime) after wasting a week of time trying to keep them alive.
