Is Johnathon Kent dead?

I just watched last night's episode of Smallvile and didn't look good for poor Johnathon.

The one that just aired on February 4th.

At the end Clark walks in the barn and sees Johnathon lying on the ground and it looked like he was dying in Clark's arm.

He even quoted the exact words that Glen Ford's Johnathon Kent said (in 1978's Suoerman movie) before he died.

Is he dead?

I also watched last nights episode and was left with an uneasy feeling about Johnathon's state of health. any true superman fan knows that it would be impossible for the show to kill off his father, because he is such a part of superman's life when he goes to metropolis and turns into a total beast.

Is Clark 18? If not then he isnt dead because he dies around Clarks 18th Birthday.
