Anyone, planning on going to this convention next month, on 6th/7th March, down in London?

Especially, as there seem to be the biggest planned meeting of BLAKE'S rebel group at a, B7 Cast Reunion and, a Special Audience With Talk!!!

Further details have been brought to our attention via:

HORIZON at: http://www.Horizon.org.uk

and: http://www.Londonfilmandcomiccon.com

So, be warned "FEDERATION FORCES" will be present to eradicate any trouble!!!

The link says that the con is to coinside with the launch of season one DVD set. I've had mine on order from Amazon since last year, however, the BBC has put back the release date three times for unknown reasons.

Lets hope that they stick to the release date this time. Also why would they hold it back in the first place, I cant believe it was just to wait for this convension. Maybe there will be an important announcement at the meeting. Maybe about a new Blake's 7 (I've certainly heard Paul Darrow talking about it enough times);)

TRUE - these DVD'S have been delayed numerous times for various reasons (the last for technical problems that have now been sorted out - they are now due out on, 1st March and, it's just a pure coincidence that this, Convention had the season one cast, originally, only signing DVD sets on 6th March.

Now, other "B7" cast are attending making it probably the biggest, "B7" REUNION with a special Audience With limited talk!!! (We were wondering IF further delays to the DVD'S would mean they wouldn't even be out for this event!!!

"PAUL" is no longer with the project do this, "B7" Revival and, hasn't been for some time. There was a recent informal interview done with those doing the revival (writer/producer) for further detaials it can be found at:

It is our understanding that the BBC own the rights to the original aired series but B7 Enterprises Limited own the rights to the "name" Blake's 7. As rights holder for the name, they now effectively have a veto over the release of the DVDs of the original aired series. They are currently blocking the release, and have stated various reasons for doing so, including quality and "commercial considerations". They have not gone into details about the commercial considerations, but fannish speculations have included various combinations of:

wanting more money from BBCW (BBC Worldwide) for permission to use the Blake's 7 name
the release date of the DVDs being manipulated for the benefit of the mini-series project's publicity

I'm more staggered every day by these 'new guys'. They were behind blocking our DVD releases ? These guys clearly care nothing for the fans. It sickens me.:dead:

PRECISELY - that's WHY many "B7" FANS are totally, NOW against them and, this "B7" Revival.

They care more about "B7" only as a, cash cow - brand name, etc - not the "B7" FANS - OLD or, NEW. :dead:

I assume that these 'new guys' are the same ones who are blocking the BBC from showing any Dr Who episodes containing Daleks.

They own the rights to Terry Nation's estate and include his former accountant. It does appear that money is the only thing that motivates them.

NO - the one's responsible for blocking the use of the DALEKS are, TERRY NATION'S ESTATE/AGENT ROGER HANDCOCK LTD. The "DALEKS" are part owned by, BBC/TNE hence, the problem.

The one's (B7Enterprises) doing the "B7" Revival bought the right's only for doing a new version of "B7" from, TERRY NATION'S ESTATE.

TWO different issues, entirely.
