It's going to be my first conv, and I decided that I wanted to have the full experience so I want to do the location tour bus. But I can't make up my mind on witch tour is worth it the most. For people who have already done this, what location are really great to see. What tour bus would you choose?
Thanks for your help!!

If you are a first timer, I would probably recommend the inner city tour as you will get to see more filming locations on that tour (and less time on busses travelling to the destinations).

City Tour - which to choose?

Hi Caro,

if you are going to be in town long enough both sides of the convention, a lot of people are booking onto the Outer Area Tour on the Wednesday and also the Inner Area Tour on the following Monday.

There's very little overlap between the two tours so you will get to see a lot.

Just wish I could go on it myself !!!

It's not included in my superpass right

I have the super pass but I don't think it's included. And 55 $ us per tour it gets kind of expensive if I do both. That's why I would like to choose the best. If we go visit the bidges studios, does it mean we actually get close to the real set?

Tour choices

Hi Caro,

then I'd agree with Allan - go for the Inner Area tour on either the Weds or the Monday (same route both days) as the Outer Area Tour is aimed at folks who have been on the regular tour in previous years.

The tour usually stops outside the studios but doesn't I'm afraid include a trip inside.
If we're very lucky the studio will let us organise another tour to the studio on convention Sunday - seats for this will be auctioned off on the Gatecon site nearer the convention (if we get the go ahead).

I think I'll wait a little while longer

I think I'll wait a little while longer then. I prefer to keep my money so I can bid on the auction. I hope it works!! (crossing my fingers and toes right now!!)

$55 is actually pretty cheap for what's included. It's a whole day plus meal. And it's a great way to see some of Vancouver even if you don't look at the Stargate connections. If you are planning to do 'tourist' stuff while you are there then take the tour: it's a bargain. And last year when we stopped outside the studio they did open the door so we could see the iris where it's stored in the entranceway. *G*

If you wait for the set tour you risk losing out on going on the location tour. And the set tour is going to cost you a lot more: someone correct me, but I think you are looking at a minimum (if you are lucky...) of $150 US

For me, once I've paid my flight from the UK and accomodation those prices are really peanuts!

I paid $160 for the studio tour last year, but it was worth every $$ :)

Don't know if i want to go again this year :/

I paid credit last week for the tour

I paid credit for the lcation tour last week. When will I have a confirmation of my place and ticket for the tour?

City Tour Confirmations

Confirmations are now starting to be sent out for the city tours - but with 200 to send it will take me several days so don't worry if you don't get yours right away.

thank you

Thank you, I was wondering were my money went. Kind of forgot about that when I looked at my credit bill :)
But every penny is going to be worth it.

Hi, my first time going also, we decided on the outer city tour just to see some of "outside" Vancouver, etc area- we are soooooo excited to be able to go this year, gonna be a blast meeting a ton of Gaters from all over!
