The character of Dr. Weir, who at the end of Stargate, S7 had been assigned to be the head of the SGC, moves on to the new team set to locate and explore the mysteries around the lost city of Atlantis. {The actor, however, has been recast so ddon't expect the same face.} Described as attractive, brilliant and the master of at least 5 languages, Weir made her decision to battle the establishment from within, is known to be anti-military and has extensive experience as an international negotiator. She is the civilian head of the Atlantis outpost.
