hotel room rate
That's $130 Canadian. It's around $100 US, depending on what the current exchange rate is. That's for 1 king bed or 2 double beds, 1 or 2 people. Every extra person over 2 is another $15/ head per night. So if three people share a room, it's $145 Can. The information can be found on the
Gatecon site - look down the front page untilyou find 'Hotel Information and Reservation Forms'.
And remember: you paid an additional tax on top of the sales tax in Canada. It's called the GST and runs around 7%, as I remember. *But* the good news is, you can get most of that back when you come back across the border. There are afew restrictions to remember:
The total on each reciept has to be $50 or more. You can't turn in a $25 reciept, for example. And it has to be a 'non-consumable item, like durable things purchased [books, photos, etc] or your hotel room. Meals and the like don't count.
You can either apply for refund when crossing the border or by mail. The hotel has information there about this and there are places on the web with info. I'll try and track some down.
