My First Convention...a few questions??

This will be my first convention and not really knowing anything about it I have a few questions....Last night I sent off the form for my Tripass Tickets and the Inner Tour...

When do you recieve the information about times and whats happening??
How long do the convention last each day??
Do they have Stargate merchandise there for people to buy??

Any other information or tips you have would be appreciated.

When do you recieve the information about times and whats happening??

Info about times -- some stuff will be posted on the Gatecon site a few weeks before the con; the 'specifics' about who's panels are when usually don't show up until about Thursday - I think, usually sometime after registration, but it mostly depends on how much gets organized before-hand.

Certain things are at about the same time each year -- the cocktail party is on Thursday night and the main auction is Saturday night.

The 'opening ceremonies' are about 9am on Friday (IIRC) and panels run until early afternoon-ish.

Last year - it was kinda like this:

Wednesday: City Tour / Sekh's Party
Thursday: Registration / Cocktail Party
Friday: Panels / mini-auction (there might have been something in the afternoon here, but I'm not sure)
Saturday: Panels / Photo sessions / Big Auction
Sunday: Panels / Autograph sessions / Closing ceremonies
Monday: Bus Tour

How long do the convention last each day??

The convention, essentially, lasts all day, depending on what you're doing... the panels are from about 9am-ish until 2pm-ish or so, I think. Then there are events in the evenings.

Do they have Stargate merchandise there for people to buy??

Yes. In the Dealer's Room there's always all kinds of goodies. Both Gatecon and generic Stargate, as well as other scifi / tv / movie stuff... you just have to poke around and see what there is to see.
