Disney remakes

Several of Disney's animatied movies have been remade. I personally like the originals better what do you think?

Which ones have been remade?

101 Dalmations I know. And the first is far better than the new one.

I know they were going to redo Fantasia, but have no idea if it was ever finished.

While a few like Snow White were remastered

I don't know of any animated remakes, but for live-action films there is the 'The Parent Trap'.

The recent remake of 'Around the World in Eighty Days' had Disney backing, and there are rumours of them remaking 'The Swiss Family Robinson'.

The old Disney hand drawn and hand painted animations have a quality that cannot be recreated today. They took years and years to make. Though the Pixar computer generated animations are almost as good, the other recent animations are very poorly done and look like 1970's Hannah-Barbara weekly serials.

In fairness Hannah Barbara cartoons are quite good compared to anime's like Pokemon!

But overall I agree- animation does come in two basic flavours: Decidedly below average (Danger Mouse?) and the extra-ordinarily realistic (Final Fantasy or the new Captain Scarlet) with not a great deal inbetween.

It is not helped by the fact that much of Disney's output has lost the charm that always went with original (Walt) Disney productions.
