I'm sure a lot of you find yourself drawn to ur computer not only to post on the bboards but also to read SG-1 fanfic.

For those of u who do read fic, I have a few Q's:

1) What is your favorite fanfiction story (or stories)?
2) What are ur fav fic sites?
3) What genre(s) of fic do you prefer?

Here are my answers:
1) My favorite fic is "Us" (http://www.sg1-heliopolis.com/archive/35/us.html), by NG at www.sg1-heliopolis.com.
2) My fav sites are www.sg1-heliopolis.com, www.fanfiction.net, and www.gateworld.net/fanfic.
3) I like J/S ship fic, sometimes with some humor, some angst, and some action/adventure before ending with a happy ending.

What r your favs?

Thanx for the input,

SamFan

Well, I'm not entirely sure where, or why, Ur comes into it  though I do love the mythology aspect of 'Stargate S.G.-1'. It's what sets it apart from all the other run-of-the-mill science fiction shows like 'Star Trek' and its derivatives. :) Anyhow, I'll try and answer your questions.

1) What's my favourite fan fiction story (or stories)?

Well, my favourite writer is Eos who writes a very wide range of both general fiction and J/D slash. She also has a nice line in humour. :D

I love Dangermouse's 'Mission Impossible' series. Her stories have everything - action/adventure, mythology, hurt/comfort, angst and hot Jack/Daniel slash. She even has Sam/Teal'c 'ship too, for those who are into that sort of thing. ;)

Then there are Wadjet's A.U. stories which are definitely different, especially 'The Puck Stops Here'.

I also love pretty much anything by Euphrosyne, including her Jack/Harry slash.

And if ever I'm feeling unhappy, I go to Anaïs. 'Doctor Jackson's Diary' or 'Some Like it Hot - Confessions of a Curry Addict' are guaranteed to have me screaming with laughter.

WARNING: Most of the above are NC-17.

2) Ur favourite fiction sites?

The Feisty Daniel Appreciation Society where you'll find stories by Dangermouse, Eos and Wadjet and also by Catspaw (a lovely writer), Danvers, Joy (very hot!), Sideburns and Teand (who tickles my funny bone.)

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/feistydanny/

Euphrosyne's site:

Anaïs's Stargate Fan Fiction

3) What genre(s) do I like?

Well, slash - obviously ;) - but only so long as the true characterization is maintained. I don't like to see either Jack or Daniel feminized, or worse, infantilized.

I also enjoy general fiction, and whether it's slash or gen., I like action/adventure or drama stories. Humour isn't essential, but always welcome.

Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. I'm a minor and I'm sure that there are other minors on this board, so do u ppl think u could post some PG or PG-13 fic links, as well as whatever slash or NC-17 fics u read? I, for one, know I would be killed if I read anything with more than a mild to moderate R rating! I'm not saying "Don't mention fic that's NC-17." I'm just saying that I would appreciate it if u ppl would post some milder fic, too.

Thanx,

Er, what's uppl? Or should that be, what's uppl, Doc?!

I know there are people here who are under-age, which is why I included the warning. :)

If you want PG or PG-13, there are a lot of such fics. on this very site. Some gen. fics by me even :) 'Rat's Tale' wouldn't offend a cloistered nun! Um, unless you really don't like tame rats...?

I understand this is supposed to be a 'family site', so there should be plenty to suit you. If you're a 'shipper, you might like to try Denise's fics. (Skydiver) She's a very good writer. :)

HTH.

Best wishes,

For my preference I prefer genuine stories with some depth and character in what I read, e.g. those with a real beginning, middle and end and perhaps not vastly removed from what I could see on the show, if they actually went for some depth.

Not overly fond of slash, they tend to be at best poorly reasoned, at worst physically impossible.

u= you
ppl= people
u ppl= you people

Sorry if my abbreviations are annoying. It's a habit, LOL!

Um, it's not annoying as such, SamFan. It simply makes communication harder than it need be. :)

If u = you, why does ppl = people, and not pea pea ell?

It's not easy
