Being a newbie to this event as well, yes I'm curious to know how it will work.
I would imagine that it would be difficult to allow people to purchase photo tickets at registration as I understood that they would be taken in ticket order and not purchase order. You could buy your autograph items before, as again my understanding is that they do these in ticket order.
My questions are similar - do you pay for things in one lump or separately at each guest table, and if you can buy all your autographs and/or photo tickets in one go, what payment methods will you allow, for example will you accept traveller's cheques?
How do you work the autograph sessions, again my understanding is that you are only allowed two items to be signed, one can be a personal item - but do you pay for this - and if you don't have a personal item to have signed, can you still have the two autographs - again, I presume that only one item will be personalised - is this right?
Because the number of attendees is much greater this year, and I know that the actors are only around for a limited amount of time each day for photos/autos, is there a limit to the number of photos you can have with each actor? For example, if I wanted an individual with Michael and Chris, could I then also have them in a group shot and a shot with just the two of them?
If these sort of questions could be answered on here, or even as part of the registration pack (presuming you don't purchase auto/photo tickets at this stage), and also the cost of autos/photos with each guest, it would help everyone to decide who to buy tickets for, rather than trying to decide under pressure once you reach the guest. This would also keep things moving along at a slightly faster rate if everyone knows who they want and how much they are spending, and also what order the guests are signing in, it shouldn't take as long for people to be ready.
Whilst I know that you guys are very experienced that organising this event, I would presume that sensible suggestions wouldn't go amiss.
I have been a steward at a few things over the last couple of years, including a general signing event in the UK a few weeks ago. The queues for the actors signing was very long, and in order to speed things up, we walked along the queues telling people what they could do, ie have a photo with the actor, and asking if they could have cameras and autograph items ready so that we could keep the queue moving. At no time did we push anyone along and tell them they had chatted for too long, but because people knew that there was a queue and we were trying to get everyone through, they were very co-operative, and by 1.00pm the queue had been reduced to 0, with all fans leaving happy.
Anyway, back to my questions at the top......
