Spoliers:

A standalone episode that "may" see T'Pol getting married.

Other reports say that a "main character" does get married so I guess it must be true.

But then Spock was 'meant' to get married in 'Amok Time' TOS too, but never actually did.

Didn't T'Pol call off her engagement at the start of Season 3.

Brannon Braga was quoted as saying there would be no character-driven episodes this Season. I'm not certain exactly what he meant by that, but this seems like a character-driven episode.

Cassidy Guests On Enterprise

Joanna Cassidy will guest star on the Oct. 22 episode of UPN's Star Trek: Enterprise, playing T'Les, the mother of Vulcan officer T'Pol (Jolene Blalock), TV Guide Online reported. T'Les urges T'Pol to dump crewmate/boyfriend Trip (Connor Trinneer) for an arranged marriage, the site reported.

Cassidy, a veteran actress who appeared in Blade Runner, told the site that she got the Enterprise gig because the show shares casting people with HBO's Six Feet Under, on which she has a recurring role. "There's very little loyalty in this town, and when that rears its head, it's a beautiful thing," she told the site. "That's wonderful. They know they can count on me. You don't hire people who are not going to do the job."

Cassidy said her character "could be conniving, but she's really not. She's a very honorable, respectful woman, and she believes in a good cause. T'Les is a giver; Margaret Chenowith [the character she plays on Six Feet Under] is a taker. Big difference."

Cassidy added that introducing her character in the fourth season of Enterprise helps flesh out T'Pol's character. "I think they're giving T'Pol some weight," she said. "She is a huge part of that show, but she's been left in the air somehow. I don't want to reveal what happens in the mother-daughter relationship, but let's put it this way: They're testing Jolene Blalock's acting chops by giving her heavy stuff to play. She did well.

After watching it

I was really let down , right when she goes out the good ole next week on....

Hope the ones with Brett Spiner in 3 eps (from what I heard) liven things up.

I was pretty dissapointed in T'Pols marriage too. However, I have no doubt in my mind that her and Tucks relationship is just starting to build.

This wasn't anything like as bad as I expected. I knew that it was going to be slow, but not that it would add so much more detail to the characters.

If you compare it to 'Family' TNG that came right after 'Best of Both Worlds' TNG (and was similar in making the characters face up to the consequences of their actions) then I think 'Home' did a better job.

We saw Archer finally accepting that what he did was morally questionable, and he kisses an ex-girlfriend. We saw Phlox turn into a puffer fish. Trip finally admits that he loves T'Pol. Reed actually gets to fight someone.

The Wedding that I saw got cut off in the middle, so she did get married right? Just some of your comments made me think it was left open. Trip would never fool around with a married woman, he's not the type.

Very little for Hoshi and Travis, but nothing new there!

Oh! and they managed to get a bit more use out of the expensive Xindi reptile suits!

I actually quite enjoyed this one!

Okay it was significantly short of action apart from Archer's little frolic, but there was plenty of meat on everything else.

As a reflection of the repercussions of a 'home coming' it feels right. I have observed for Voyager, not everybody lives happily ever after after a fraught mission.

Archer has to justify his actions and learn to come to terms and consquently live with his actions.

Phlox's little escapade was a great commentary on the way feelings tend to run against anybody who is 'not like us' after any form of national conflict.
Must say I like the blow up face, offers so much more to consider, like what happens afterwards. Pity we won't get to see it.

Which leaves T'Pot, mummy T'Pot and Trip 'Romeo' Tucker.
T'Pot's desperation to lose her old suitor was remarkably obvious, even down to exagerrating her 'recent illness', might not even get over it!
Her suitor Gar? was a bit of an odd fish- It gave the feeling that he only wanted to carry out the deed as a recompense for things he had done, e.g. Mrs T'Pot's forced resignation?
Meanwhile Mrs T'Pot proved that by and large Vulcan mothers are not totally unlike human ones, ultimately looking for her offsprings happiness over and above her own position. Which is possibly a blight on Vulcan mythology?
All in all, it leaves Trip in a somewhat uncomfortable position, so there is space for this elsewhere.

As a change it has been most welcome. Wouldn't like every Trek episode to follow this line, but a few more where the actors can really strut their stuff, even Captain Leap to his limited ability, will be appreciated.

I really enjoyed "Home." The best part for me was simple the starting 5 mins where it showed the crew standing on the starfleet stadium in from of everyone.
