Clark and Lois Lane investigate Chloe's apparent murder, but are stopped by an army officer, General Sam Lane, who turns out to be Lois' father.
Lois suspects that Sam knows more about Chloe's death than he will admit, and Clark discovers that Sam has recently been in contact with Lex.
Jason arrives from Paris and convinces Lana to continue their relationship.
Suspecting that Chloe is still alive, Lionel sends an assassin with the power to morph his limbs into metallic weapons to keep Chloe from testifying against him.

Of course Chole is not dead! She is still in the opening credits!!
Plus who else is going to fawn over Clark and never get him!

Lol - i was glad she wasn't dead though - not that i really believed she would be.

A good ep, i thought. Better than the last one. Lots happening. Lionel's threat to Lex - the 'every sip of wine, every friend you meet' one was actually chilling and you know Lionel could manage it - even from jail. Do we think it was Lex who had him stabbed? It would stand to reason after that threat but somehow i don't think Lex is at that point yet. Then again getting someone to kill your parents kinda runs in the Luthor family :D

Clark is being really annoying about Lex. Lex is trying to be friendly and helpful (okay he lied about Chloe but only to protect her) and i really felt sorry for him with the "relegated from best friend to last resort" line :( Even Martha and Jonathan are saying that Lex maybe okay but Clark has to be stuuborn - he's gonna drive poor Lex to evil :(

Oh and i *really* liked the scene where Lois and Clark are looking through General Lane's office. There's just something about 'Lois Lane and Clark Kent investigating' that feels so right :D
