Synopsis
In the future the Earth and the moon are ruled by two factions, Milcon and Polcon, who after many years of warfare, have settled into uneasy cooperation, while still attempting to manoeuvre themselves into absolute power.
The latest venture is to send a vessel to colonise a new planet, for which they need volunteers- The entire population of the moon.
-------------------------

I do so like a story with a beginning, middle and an end. One that starts by explaining who is what, builds a story, then finishes with a conclusion. Perhaps I am old fashioned?

Either way, this is a book that rather puts the thrilling conclusion (but without the thrilling) into the start:- A Polcon terrorist squad, working for Milcon, enlist athe aide of a moon native (who actually works for Milcon, but thinks he works for Polcon) to sabotage the air purifiers (owned by Milcon, but manned by Polcon) that allow the moon's inhabitants to live.
This is all a plot by Polcon and Milcon to get the moon colonists to volunteer to board a Biosphere and colonise a new planet.
From there it is much easier, but downhill.
There is a sort of bloodless coup and the head Lunan sort of takes charge, but doesn't and after a few years trawlling the galaxy, they all end up on Earth again to find it has virtually wiped itself out.

A good book for insomniacs
