Do you guys find that the 2 shows are quite different from each other? I mean Atlantis seems so advance and with the ancients' technologies and knowledge, earth can beat the Goa'uld easy.

OK I know that the two worlds cannot establish a link yet deal to the lack of ZPMs to power the stargate but when u watched the seige pt 2

Earth suddenly has all these new weapons like the new ship, ZPM, space mines etc. I mean the Goa'uld should be easy to defeat after earth has established a like with Atlantis in Season 9/2 of Stargate/Atlantis.

Sorry for the mistake. I just want to black out the highlighted text since it is kind of a spoiler.

Would someone teach me how to do that.

Thanks a lot!

I've not seen the end of the season yet, but I like the way they have deliberately made the two series different. I find more humour in Atlantis, and it is less Military, but both series now have technology way ahead of the present day. That makes quite a difference from the position back in SG-1 Season 1.

PS. I fixed your spoiler quote for you.

Ironically, although the current situation is a natural development of the preceding series, it was the "current day" that made SG-1 so appealing to me (and perhaps many other fans) and why it was different from Star Trek, Farscape, etc.

I have to say I like Atlantis alot more.

When General Hammond was replaced by O'Neill I felt SG-1 lacked the strong leader (and the humour at times) but I feel that Atlantis has this - plus the excitement of exploring a whole new galaxy where they are in wayyyyyy over their heads!!

Just my two cents,

I've only seen the first half of each series so far, but it feels like they've put all the experienced writers onto Atlantis, and left the interns, graduates, trainees (take your pick) loose on SG-1. Episodes like Affinity are actually embarrassingly bad to watch...
